What a fantastic week! Tonight we finish the festival with a rare glimpse into Trenton's film history with a 40-minute documentary about Belleville's School for the Deaf circa 1920's!
Spectacular performance last night from HILOTRONS for our special presentation of "Carry On, Sergeant!" What a unique way to bring a piece of our local history back to life! A very special thank you to our gracious hosts at the Centre Theatre and our sponsors City Of Quinte West, Prime Focus Productions and Quintessential Credit Union!
Catch a piece of Canadian film history! "Carry on Sergeant", filmed in Trenton in 1928, plays at the Festival on Tuesday at 1:30pm and again at 7:30pm. The evening screening will be accompanied by two members of HILOTRONS with a score comprised of classic film themes by Ennio Morricone. At the time it was made, "Carry on Sergeant" was the largest-budget movie made in Canada. Ticket prices are $5 for the matinee and $8 for the evening performance. Don't miss it!
Still lots more film fest to go! Tonight we're showing three documentaries: Common Ground by Sean Scally, Old Growth by Tess Girard, and "A Hope in Hell" by Doug Knutson. Be sure to join tonight at 7pm in the Centre Theatre.
