Journey With Purpose When we are acting from a place of purpose, we find more joy and connection. So what happens when we grow and change, or when we experience hardships? We can feel frustrated, burnt out, stuck, or just lacking direction. ... These feelings can lead to disatisfaction at work, in relationships, and in life. As these levels of disatisfaction grow, a habit is sure to form. Simply put, it's a safety measure our brain uses to cope with change. Feeling stuck in habits or addictions is a normal part of the human experience. You are a human, I am a human. What I do is help people overcome challenges, to see life differently, and to have a different experience of what it means to be human. Mother's Day is here again. Another chance to tell the special kind of mom supporter in your life just how much they mean to you. For some, this day can be a reminder of a painful relationship. It can be a day of grief, joy, pride, loss, anger, disappointment, love, or just another day for that matter. Today can be warm and fuzzy, or it can be really damn hard. For me, it's a day for me to connect with the incredible women who have inspired me to grow into the best version... of myself. It's a day for me to send a kind text, or make a call, or social distanced visit to the women who showed up for me when they didn't have to, but chose to. I'm grateful to many women who played pivotal roles in my life. Momma Beyer for guiding me along the way, @tiffanyhunt for helping me through PTSD and helping me find my journey and purpose, @utmdietician for being a soul sister and friend and @dr.amy.johnson for showing me that freedom is possible. Ever struggled with an eating issue? . Overeating . Binge eating ... . Bulimia . Me Too! . Guess what?! Your Eating is not the issue! Let me say that again, your eating is not the issue. On the surface it might look like that . What’s really happening is very innocent and a misunderstanding that is not your fault. . It starts with a deep desire to avoid feeling the uncomfortable, the unexplainable, our human experience of emotion. . Instead we innocently focus on our thoughts, thinking our way out of our emotions. Thinking our way around the emotion, thinking our way outside of our feelings. . We can only do this for so long before our bodies need a break. For some of us it shows up in our eating, for others it might be drinking, or some other habit. And yet for others it shows up in the manifestation of disease or depression. No matter how it arises, the root is always the same.
