I feel privileged that I am in an industry that is able to remain open during this pandemic. Our clients/ patients' need for massage, acupuncture and reflexology, not only for their physical needs but are also coming to help manage anxiety and mental stress in this unpredictable time. The services we offer are extremely important to our society right now and I feel grateful that we can play a role in helping to support our communities health and well-being. #getamassage #wellness #selfcare #selflove #staysafe

Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. One of my favourite class was Neurology. I loved every day of learning about the nervous system. There are 12 pairs of cranial nerves in the human body. All these arise directly from the brain or the brain stem. Some of the cranial nerves are sensory only like Olfactory nerve (CN 1) for Smell or Optic nerves (CN2) for Eye sight. Some cranial nerves have only somatic or motor functions like Trochlear nerve (CN 4) and Abducent nerve (CN 6) etc. The majority of the cranial nerves have both somatic as well as sensory functions such as Trigeminal nerve (CN 5) and Facial nerve (CN 7), etc. The nerve pathway has a lot to do with massage therapy. Knowing each nerve and it's innervation ( sensory/motor/both). This helps identify and treat or make modifications to the treatment of conditions associated with sensory lose to a part of the body.
