M Power

Hello M Power families. I trust that you are all keeping well and coping through this challenging time as much as you can. Please continue to support one another, through the good day and the not-so-good days. We will come out the other side of this better than ever! I just wanted to announce that as of January 1, 2021, M Power will be moving south of the border. I have taken a new position that is taking me to Las Vegas. I've been slowly transitioning since September and ...soon it'll be time for me to focus on my new venture. It is time that I practice what I preach and follow my dreams, even if that means uprooting myself, putting myself out there, feeling uncomfortable, and taking healthy risks. It means I'm growing and developing as a person, mother, wife, and entrepreneur. I am hoping to eventually provide girls in the Las Vegas area with some incredible opportunities to be the best versions of themselves they can be. I am so very thankful for this community and all of the incredible families that I have met and worked with over the past 2 1/2 years. It has been an incredible ride. I am fortunate to live in a place where there are some huge hearts and the strong desire for self-improvement. Despite the distance, I'm always here for my M Power families. Our "Ears to You" Workshop was a huge success. Thank you to Lisa Sutherland for an incredible session for our girls. Our ladies learned to understand their own emotions through taking time to connect with our equine friends. Lovely day.

Summer is coming to an end and a new phase of learning is beginning. This summer has been unusual to say the least but I have loved seeing all the family time, outdoorsy adventures, and growing that happened. Starting this week we are starting our 10-Week Empowering against Exploitation program via Zoom for our older girls. We are working with the Elizabeth Fry Society to make this a valuable program for young women. The program is free and runs Wednesdays 7pm from Septembe...r 9th until November 18th. We are running a 10-Week program for girls ages 12+ to help Empower Against Exploitation starting in September. This program is free thanks to the wonderful work of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel-Halton. Each week we will be meeting via Zoom for 1 hour per week. This program develops awareness and resilience to exploitation. We have 7 girls registered so far and can accommodate 12 per 10-week session. ... Email me at [email protected] for more information.

Last night's Empowering Against Exploitation Session for parents was awesome. So much great information for parents. If you missed it, we are hosting a second session tomorrow night at 7pm via Zoom. This session is free of charge. We are also arranging for a 10-week program for girls ages 12+ to participate in the Empowering Against Exploitation program. This will take place once a week and is free of charge thanks to the non-profit Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel-Halton. ... I have great news! I have confirmed 2 dates for the Elizabeth Fry Exploitation workshop for parents. Monday July 27th 7pm Tuesday July 28th 7pm We have had almost 60 parents register for this so please let me know which date you prefer. ... If you cannot make either date, please let me know. I am also organizing a 10 week program for girls that will empower them against exploitation. This program will run virtually on the same night each week. I'm sorting out which night of the week would work best for this program. If you wish to have your daughter (ages 12+) registered, please PM me through the M Power facebook site. Human exploitation is a major concern for parents. Stay tuned for some upcoming information sessions to help our parents recognize warning signs and to help communicate with their kids. Email me if you wish to be notified when this training is scheduled. [email protected]

My best advice to parents.....take care of yourself first so you can best take care of those you love the most. Be the best version of you there is. When you honour you, everything else falls into place with greater ease.
