The recent incident of racist graffiti is a shame, but it does not characterize the town I grew up in. It was the act of individuals and it speaks of naive ignorance rather than hate. No good will come if we focus on the worst aspects of the perpetrators. They do not represent any larger group, only their own foolishness. This community is inclusive and charitable and kind. Its small town charm is maintained by people who refuse to be anything but good neighbours regardless... of race, gender, or religion. Here, the vandals are few and the kind hearts are many. In the wake of this regrettable act, we have the opportunity to remember this.

Whatever it takes to keep the NDP out of office. She invokes Russian funding of local environmental groups as the cause of KM's troubles saying "many of our environmental groups in Canada receive foreign funding..." CC:"[The BC Liberal Party is]a marriage of convenience betw...een federal Conservatives and federal Liberals that's existed since the 50s under different guises. And what we've had to decide over the years that we're going to set aside all those issues that divide us which are legion, you know gay marriage, for example. I'm in favour of gay marriage. I'm in favour of a woman's right to choose. I'm in favour of supporting transgender bathrooms, and things like that. Lots of people in my party weren't, but we don't talk about those things, and we don't execute on those things, because the only way to keep the NDP out of power in this province" See more
