This girl’s hair is wild. Here’s a super easy, versatile baby activity for you. This was not only a great sensory activity it was also great sitting practice! I choose to sit her by the door for some new scenery but you could really do this on any wall or surface. I used tissue paper but tinfoil or ribbons would also work. ... She crunched, swatted and pulled at the tissue paper. She heard, felt and saw how it moved. Good Morning Sunshine Over the course of the school year one thing I always tried to do with my students was cultivate a connection to the earth. We did this by spending time outside, wondering about what we saw, noticing changes and bringing those things inside. We talked about the seasons a lot because that was something they could see and easily relate to their life. I want to bring this idea into my home as well offering my little one lots of opportunity to connect wi...th nature and build that relationship. Two ways we’ve been doing this at home are: 1) Going outside! Everyday when possible. Now the current weather Saskatchewan has been having makes this difficult. But with some layers it is definitely possible. We even made it out for a short walk yesterday! 2) Recently I’ve been bringing Nora to the window to see the sunrise and saying Good morning and thank you to the sun. We are lucky that our front windows offer us this view and as the days grow longer () this won’t happen right at sunrise. -hopefully. We did some painting today. I’ve seen this activity in a high chair before but I wanted to try it out as a tummy time instead. It was very successful! To set this up -drop dollops of paint on paper -put into plastic bag ... -tape to play-mat/floor -watch and talk about how the colours mix This is also a great way to paint with your toddler, mess free! I did learn that card-stock would definitely work better if you want to keep the final product.
