You have all been so amazing this year! On March 18th we had to close our doors - 5 days earlier we had opened our 3rd location. We were scared and we thought "this was it" But you all showed up. You ordered online, you supported us and you got us through those 10 weeks of being closed!... Then you continued to support us. You have blown us away with how amazing you all have been! To say we have been busy is an understatement and we are beyond grateful to be able to say that! So we have decided to take a little "break" after Christmas. We are going to keep the stores closed, walk away from social media for a few days and not fulfill online orders. We will be back up and running as normal on January 2nd with all stores opened and our online store orders being fulfilled. We thank you for your understanding and most of all for ensuring we had an amazing year in the midst of a pandemic

It’s time... To say goodbye to disposable sponges, paper towel and plastic wrap Here we have reusable items that help you get over the disposable break up! ... Plastic Wrap... Anything plastic wrap can do, beeswax wraps can do without polluting the Earth. We carry a wide selection of beeswax wraps to best suit your needs! We always say there is no better than option, we offer variety so anyone can find something that works for them in their household. These last about a year and can be rejuvenated with more beeswax wax! Paper Towel... Have you heard of @ten_and_co Sponge Cloths?! Just one of these cloths replace up to 17 rolls of paper towel!! They hold about 3/4 cup of liquid & can be composted after use. They clean surfaces without streaking from the kitchen - bathroom and everywhere in between! They typically last 2-3 months or 200 wash cycles! Commercial Sponges Ditch the gross kitchen sponge and replace it with this natural plant fibre sponge that is compostable! It’s made from the luffa plant and has a texture very similar to commercial sponges. It can be cleaned using boiling water & vinegar and lasts about a month! Our Grimsby store will be closed next week from October 19-22 while we move everything into our new space. We will reopen on October 23 at 31 Main Street West. How to Remove Labels off Jars In 3 Easy Steps We have spent countless hours removing labels from hundreds of jars. We have a Jar Exchange Program at the shops, meaning you (our community) drop off any and all kinds of jars, we remove the labels, sanitize and then put them on our shelves, for free! So anyone can have access to the refillery at any time! We think we’ve come up with the Fool-Proof Label Removing Technique & we want to share it with you! ... Here’s how to get those labels off : Step One Fill the sink with hot soapy water. Add a few drops of Citrus Essential Oil - can be lemon, orange, lemongrass, etc.. *Adding it to the water bath is essential, this helps break down and soften the adhesive from the labels. Step Two Add in the jars, be sure all the jars are submerged and the labels are underwater. Let Soak for at least 10 minutes! Step Three Peel off labels. 75% of the time no extra scrubbing is needed, they just peel off and it is SOO satisfying. If there is still a portion of the label on the jar, use one of the @euroscrubby pads & add a few drops of the essential oil of choice to it. With a bit of elbow grease scrub off any remaining Glue/Label! And that’s it! Now your jars are label free and ready to be repurposed. I really try to live my life by this mantra. In our household we are constantly teaching our kids about the importance of kindness and how it can literally change the world. Kindness towards our Earth needs to be a priority for all. But today I want to focus on kindness towards each other. 2020 had been a really heavy year for me and I know I'm not alone. It's been a tough adjustment for all of us and each of us wears that "trauma" differently. We come from a variety of di...fferent beliefs and viewpoints and doesn't that make our world more beautiful!?! I have certain beliefs around COVID that might differ from someone else's and that is OK. I don't thrust my beliefs on anyone else and truly honour and recognize that there are so many different levels of comfort with this virus. I really truly believe in "you do you and I'll do me". For a long time I thought missing my friends and family, social interaction, and watching my kids "be kids" was what was really weighing on me. But last week I had a breaking point and I realized what was really bringing me down - It seems some people have forgot how to be kind. I was at the grocery store and without going into full details a retail store clerk said some very hurtful words which included calling me "ignorant" for bringing my reuseable shopping bags. It's not the first time I have had someone say something to me while out. I politely tried to explain my position, but she continued to belittle me. The moment I returned to my vehicle I could feel the tears. I'm not a sensitive person, but I have a hard time when people accuse me of being something I am not - I'm not an "ignorant" person I'm the opposite and words can sometimes really hurt. So this post is just a gentle reminder to everyone that kindness is so important. Let's be respectful of others opinions and stop calling other people out (on social media and in public) when you aren't happy with their beliefs or choices. If you are uncomfortable with what someone is doing try and have a respectful conversation with them to explain your feelings. Kindness won't make COVID go away, but I know it will make it easier on all of us #bekindtoeverythingthatlives
