This morning’s challenge: Construct as many polyhedrons as you can with a variety of materials. We had a lot of outside the cube thinking ... an octadecagonal prism, decagonal pyramid, dodecahedron and cube made with sticky notes. Well done!!!!
Today’s Challenge: Create and solve a growing pattern problem. Use an algebraic expression to solve for Day 50 and Day 100. Everyone rose to the challenge and did an amazing job. These are just two of a class full of wonderful examples!
Everyone just completed their mini-essays on the important of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. Lots of hard work and an abundance of learning!

This morning we took advantage of the cold temperatures to conduct an experiment inspired by a video clip on The Weather Network on frozen bubbles. We got to watch ice crystal form before our eyes, a little tricky to see in the photo as they are somewhat hidden by our cool reflection. Fun stuff!!

We were treated to a fabulous workshop this morning presented by Queen’s University Community Outreach Program: CanCode. Our workshop was entitled Ozobot: Search and Rescue and was an introduction to robot engineering, specifically coding robots using colour. What an engaging experience!!!!
