The sun came out for percussion class this afternoon.

This morning, Mrs. Scorda taught the students a wonderful lesson about mental health. After school today, you may wish to ask your child what some of the things are that they can do to look after their mental health as well as their physical health.

Division 3 students made red dresses as part of their Red Dress Day work. If you are walking past our portable this week, please glance up at our windows, where our red dresses are on display for all to see and think about. #NationalDayofAwareness

In Science this afternoon, students worked with Ms. Wendy and some of our Montessori Botany materials, before heading outside to hunt for leaves with different shapes.

We usually start our morning with a Math lesson and/or Math game. This morning’s lesson was on Prime numbers using the Montessori peg board. We then went outside to do Graffiti Math.

Students are finishing up their Geography projects this week.

https://mysteryscience.com//plant-survival-engineering/133 In Science with Ms. Wendy, students have been learning about the structures of trees that help them stay in place during winds. This morning they created and then tested "umbrellas" which they designed to have some of the properties of trees. After finding that all of their umbrellas blew over in the wind, students returned to the classroom to modify their designs. The key to a good design seems to lie in really thinking about the special structures of the trees.
