Last week, we were fortunate to serve food at Birds of A Feather. Through their thought-provoking project, we are reminded despite the division between India and Pakistan, we were once a part of the same nation. We share a common heritage and identity. While Minahil and Mustaali traveled to each other's homeland, India and Pakistan, they invited friends and families across the two countries to recreate their own version of the Rose-Ringed Parakeet (Mittu/Tota) on a blank postcard. We hope to see this message of unity spread across the globe! #totaproject @ Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Join us tomorrow at Birds of a Feather Art Show, an event bridging the India-Pakistan divide through visual exploration of South Indian identity by Mustaali and Minahil.
Happy Rakhi from Ms. Tiffin with love. "To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were, we know each other’s hearts, we share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys." Tag your siblings and comment on your fondest joke together.

Wanting to find the perfect location for Ms. Tiffin's first restaurant, the team went back and forth for months. We all settled on one thing though. We're total homebodies. We grew up on Fraser St's diverse neighborhood, and there is no other place we'd rather be. We're loving thy neighbor with meals close to home. Now onto renovations!
Understanding the struggles of moving to a new country was what founded Ms. Tiffin. Our chef, Bicky Seema Nanda wanted to feed those who have left the comfort of their home to pursue their future here in Vancouver. Recipes had to be traditional and nostalgic, while convenient and quick for her customers. In other words, Ms. Tiffin is built on Seema Nanda's motherly love, and nurturing soul.
Hey! We just posted a little something on our highlights. Get to know us a bit more.
As Frank Herbert says in Dune, "He who controls the spice controls the universe. In this case, she's Chef Seema!
Mooli, or radish, is one of the many staple ingredients in Ms. Tiffin's dishes. Just like our Canadian tiffin lovers, the radish is a well-travelled specimen. Originating from India and China, Mooli's first recorded literature was in 3rd century BC in Ancient Greece and Rome. In the 1500's, the crop spread through the northern hemisphere and Europe. It is now a staple condiment in Japanese cuisine (aka wasabi) and a favourite ferment in Korean kimchi! How do you like your radish? Subscribers, do you have any Indian mooli dishes you'd like to try?
Humble beginnings! Let us introduce ourselves. We are Bicky Seema Nanda & Gulzar Nanda , a mother and son team, and family run business built on love! It feels like only yesterday when we got our first car for our tiffin deliveries. Can't believe it's been over two years! The car is long gone, but we are excited to announce that we will be opening our first restaurant next year!
On Fridays, subscribers have a choice of Veg or Non-Veg. Today, our non-veg option is butter chicken. Let us repeat that, we are serving Seema's beloved BUTTER CHICKEN! Here's what our subscribers have to say, "Forgot to tell you that the butter chicken last week was the best I've had in Canada." Who's ready for some butter chicken?
