Sometimes the most beautiful and serene places are the hardest things to get to, and this place is no exception. Hours of driving, towing a canoe behind a side by side over very tough 4x4 roads at times. When the road ends, the carrying of the canoe begins. Once it was in the water, we set off floating into the lake and it was a surreal moment. After a 20km hiking day, we headed back to camp for some dinner. While I tried to enjoy my meal, I kept watching the clock, trying to get my food down knowing there was a bit of walk back to the lake. The light started to peak through, knowing it could only be a short window, I grabbed my stuff and ran. Fumbling to set up my gear, I managed to get a few peaceful, pink moments.
