The Christian Development Committee is happy to share some ideas which are beneficial to the health of our people, our planet & our global community. Most of you know Sarah Gingles who has been a part of the Mount Royal family since childhood. She is passionate about caring for our environment & presently is taking Environmental Studies remotely through Queen’s University in Ontario. Sarah has kindly prepared a video entitled Environmental Conversation which highlights so...me of the current issues & discusses ways in which we can make changes in our everyday life to help achieve our goals towards a healthy planet. Helpful tips & a sharing of ideas. We feel that this is important as God has given us a beautiful earth & it is our responsibility to care for our planet & its inhabitants. Psalm 24:1-2 teaches us that the earth is God’s & we are but caretakers. The United Church of Canada states on its website that it has been working on ecological issues for 40 years. Our faith calls us the live with respect in creation. We are concerned that climate change, ocean change, lack of access to clean water & resource extraction have a greater impact on the most impoverished & vulnerable living beings. Our hope is that by taking action now it will alleviate more issues in the future.

Mount Royal United Church encourages our faith community to support our Christmas initiatives. These include; the Reverse Advent Calendar, White Gifts (we are gifting for several families detailed on our website), and the Memorial Christmas Tree. The Council and Congregation of Mount Royal United Church are saddened to hear of the passing of Claire Beach. Claire's husband Reverend Bill Beach was the first Minister of Mount Royal United Church. Bill and Claire served our Community of Faith, compassionately touching our lives and leaving treasures memories! God bless their family at this time.

We were definitely looking forward to welcoming folks back into the sanctuary for worship services, and resuming some group activities! However, during this orange phase of covid restrictions we must focus on following tighter rules and staying safe and healthy. So while we can't physically be together, please join the live streaming of Sunday Worship Service at 10:15 a.m. for the prelude and 10:30 a.m. for worship. If you miss it, you can check our website for the links to ...past services. You can also keep up with church news by watching Virtual Voices, and Rev. Stuart has also resumed Mid- Week Meditations, a peaceful reflective virtual interlude during these sometime challenging days! Our website also provides methods to financially support Mount Royal United Church's operations, as well as our current financial campaign to update our technology to enable the continuity of the above virtual activities. Mount Royal is welcoming a limited number of people to Sunday Service with all Covid protocols in place, or you can watch the service online. Please remember if you attend in person you must register on our website. Prelude begins at 10:15 and the service starts at 10:30.
