Multicultural Association of Carleton County 03.07.2021

April 1st marks the beginning of a new fiscal year at MACC and we would like to share with our clients and members some changes for this new year. Stephanie Hamilton is leaving the organization. We would like to thank Stephanie for her dedication and commitment to welcoming newcomers to Carleton County for the past 10+ years. We wish her all the best in her new adventures! Please join us in wishing Stephanie farewell! Michael Brown, MACC Client Services & Program Support, ...will be taking on the position of Settlement Worker. May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada! MACC is celebrating with two pre-recorded Online Indian Cooking Workshops! Join Kiran from Creek Village Café as she shows us how to make butter chicken and Indian fruit custard. To register to receive the link to each workshop, email [email protected] or call/text 323-2548. MACC members only. These workshops are pre-recorded so you can watch them anytime and pause/replay as you go along. The first workshop (butter chicken) will be emailed to those registered on Friday, May 21 and the second (fruit custard) on Friday, May 28.

This activity will be hosted online on Zoom. Culture Café provides a great opportunity to practice speaking English, learn about other cultures and have some fun while meeting new people! To learn more about what to expect at Culture Café, please see the poster (cover photo). If there is enough interest, we’ll continue to host Culture Café every other Wednesday from 7-8pm.

January 14, 2021 Since the beginning of January, there has been an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in Carleton County. In an effort to keep our staff members and clients as safe as possible and to not contribute to the spread of the virus, the MACC office and classroom will be closed from Friday, January 15-Friday, January 22 and will reopen Monday January 25. Although our doors will be closed, staff are available to clients via Messenger, email and video conference (i.e. Zoom). We will be checking our phone messages regularly. You can call the office number (506) 328-4690 and leave a message and someone will return your call. As the province of New Brunswick enters the Orange Phase of recovery, the Multicultural Association of Carleton County is preparing to reopen its office at 645 Main Street, Woodstock. MACC staff will be returning to the office on Tuesday, May 19, following the Victoria Day holiday. The MACC office will open its doors to clients on Thursday, May 21. Clients are asked to schedule an appointment to meet with staff before coming into the office. To make an appointment clients can... email any MACC staff member or call (506) 328-4690. Following Public Health and WorkSafeNB guidelines, the MACC office has put certain measures in place to ensure the safety of our staff and our clients. Physical distancing is required at all times. Clients must always maintain a minimum of two meters between themselves and others. Clients will also be required to wear a face mask when in the office. Anyone without a mask will be asked to leave and will need to reschedule their appointment and return when they have a mask. We would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation as we establish a new normal at our office. We look forward to returning to serving you in person while ensuring the safety of our staff and clients and preventing the spread of Covid-19. Thank you and enjoy your long weekend!
