She recently graduated OCAD University with a bachelors in Design focusing on illustration. Her style is colourful, dynamic and energetic, as noted in her birdhouse. In her spare time she loves exploring and testing different art forms.

Did you know that leaves turn color because their chlorophyll breaks down? #florafunfriday As daylight is shortened and temperatures decrease in the fall, the leaves stop their food-making process. The chlorophyll breaks down and the green color disappears, allowing the yellow to orange colors to become visible!

Thanks to your cooperation, we are now able to move back to our regular admission process (no more advance sales)! Having apprenticed under Gerry Squires and Scott Goudie, his work reflects their love of rural landscapes. He works mostly in oils, with richly layered colours communicating visual poetry . His many years devoted to his art have earned him a loyal following as one of Newfoundland and Labradors unique voices that proudly represents this place.

He received his BFA from Memorial University of Newfoundland, is the Interim Director of Eastern Edge Gallery, the Secretary on the National Board of Directors for Canadian Artists Representation/Le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC), and the Chair of Visual Artists of Newfoundland and... Labrador (VANL). His multidisciplinary art practice is informed by his experiences as a queer artist raised in rural communities throughout the Great Northern Peninsula of the island, and through earnest contemplation of memory and mourning. Through his advocacy work, he aims to discover and establish tangible connections between rural and urban creators, fostering inter-connectivity on a provincial, national, and international scale. Birdhouse raffle ends Sept. 30th! Get your tickets at the front desk! #ArtistSpotlight Trained as an illustrator and textiles artist, Molly Graham (Molly Margaret Art) in downtown St. Johns, NL. Her work is illustration-based, but she also dabbles in craft, textiles, and photography. In her artwork, Molly explores folklore, flora, and architecture. She has worked for a range of clients, including the St. Johns International Womens Film Festival, Food First NL, and several local musicians. She runs a successful online shop for her illustration work and has exhibited in many shows from St. Johns to Toronto.

Her work is based in dyes, print, and layered embroidery. Recently, Anna has been using paint and pastel to mirror works she is creating in fabric. She aspires to capture the essence of people and spaces through the movement in her natural liquid dyes and stitch-work. Her most recent bodies of work focus on understanding the trauma with sexual assault and the process of healing through nature.
Less than two weeks left for the Friends of MUN Botanical Garden Inc. Summer Plant Sale! Shop beautiful heaths, heathers, and rhododendron propagated by FOGs Horticultural Group from the Gardens collection. All plants are nursery quality and are sold in 6-inch pots. Available while supplies last!
We have harvested the first of our two beds of garlic! These are Chesnok and German Red. After they have cured, we will sell them at the gift shop.

Our Friends of MUN Botanical Garden Inc. are raffling off these beautiful birdhouses! Tickets are being sold at the Field Centre, $2 each or 3 for $5. The draw will take place at the Garden on September 30. Constructed by FOG volunteer, Barb Pomfret and decorated by local visual artists. Each birdhouse is valued at $100 retail.
