A message from CAO, Mike Henry, on behalf of Thames Centre Staff: The orders imposed on Thames Centre by the Province of Ontario in respect to enforcement of COVID-19 violations have been updated. It is important to clarify, random stops or checks of our residents will not be our mandate. Similar to a previous order, we will be focused on education. We ask for your help in adhering to the emergency order, assisting in ending the spread of COVID-19.
REVISED - COVID-19 Update from Community Services & Facilities Department: At 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021, the Premier of Ontario announced new COVID-19 related restrictions, some of which take effect as of Saturday, April 17, 2021. As a result, the following Municipality of Thames Centre outdoor spaces are now closed until further notice: - Pavilions... - All outdoor sports fields (soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis & pickleball courts) - Skateboard parks Effective immediately, Playgrounds and the Dorchester Dog Day Park are reopened in Thames Centre, as the Province has changed their decision but gatherings outside will still be enforced. Play outside safely. Keep your distance and wear a mask if you can’t. The above changes are subject to possible revisions as more details become available to the Municipality. We thank you for your understanding and hope everyone can stay safe and healthy.

A reminder from concerned by-law enforcement officers, As per the signage, snowmobiles and vehicles (including ATV’s) are not permitted on municipal trails near Dorchester and Thorndale. It is a danger to everyone involved, and creates costly repairs to the trails! If you see a snowmobile on a trail, please contact by-law enforcement at 519.268.7334 ext 225.

After a fire destroyed the Thorndale Community Centre on February 24, 2020, a new facility is almost ready for the public less than one year later! Tune in to CTV News London at 6:00pm and 11:00pm tonight for a sneak peak of the new facility. Reporter Daryl Newcombe enjoyed an early look at the amazing new Thorndale Lions Community Centre earlier today, with our Mayor and Deputy Mayor as his tour guides. The Municipality of Thames Centre and the Community of Thorndale can be very proud of the amazing support and dedication shown by so many local groups and individuals to help make this project possible from the many generous donors to those that assisted in countless other ways.
In the interest of fire fighter and public safety, the difficult decision has been made to not hold the Dorchester Santa Claus Parade this year. We would like to thank the firefighters for their ongoing service to the community, and for the work they had put into this event.
Ice Safety: Know when it’s safe to play on ponds, creeks and rivers when temperatures are hovering around zero! If you are utilizing water bodies to play a game, please remember to remove all nets from the ice.

Congratulations to Bec Matthews for winning the Community Spirit Award for her "Paint the Town Pink" initiative!! Bec created and then organized the distribution of the "Paint the Town Pink" signs to support breast cancer awareness and research. These signs have flooded not only through Thames Centre, but neighbouring communities as well!
FlightExec Centre Update: At 2:30pm Friday October 23rdthe Middlesex-London Health Unit issued an update on new restrictions due to Covid-19 which will affect all of the sports and other activities that take place at the FlightExec Centre. As disappointing as the restrictions are for all of us, at least we are able to remain open and hopefully restrictions will be reduced sooner than later.
