Hello everyone, Hope y’all are safe! Human rights are universal rights, and as citizens of the world, we are all entitled to them. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in oppression around the world lately. Federal and territorial laws usually protect these rights, but this is not the case for our discussion topic. We want to take a moment and raise awareness about farmers’ situation in India. Hundreds of thousands of farmers have descended upon India’s capital city for ra...ising their voices against the new laws that are being widely criticized as unfair and exploitative to the farmers, only to be met with intolerable human rights violations. These new legislations left no other choice for the farmers than to protest peacefully, which then got slammed with police batons, tear gas, water cannons and whatnot, sparking more outrage among the farmers and protest from all over the world. Farmers across India are fighting for their rights, and we would like to show our support to this movement by standing with students who will be gathering outside the parking lot of Winners, Avalon Mall on Friday, December 4th, from 11 am to 2 pm. Please be mindful that it is a peaceful gathering to raise awareness regarding the issue mentioned above. Thank you, everyone, for joining us yesterday for our Diwali event and making it so fun!! Special thanks to Bollywood Jig for sharing a fabulous dance performance for our event.
