Our Wreath & Planter sale is back! All profits support students at Murray Centennial! Wreaths are made with a base of greens, spruce, white cedar and pine. They’re decorated with either sumac or ilex (Ontario Holly). The size of the ring is 18 and finishes out to 24 wide and a thickness of about 5 deep. ... Planters are made in a plastic 2 gallon pot. They fit well into urns. They come with a variety of spruce, white cedar, white pine, and red pine. They are decorated with sumac, ilex, and dog wood (tall red sticks) in the center. Everything is cut and made fresh from local products. These products will stay green outside until spring! QUINTE WEST SUPPORTS HPE PUBLIC HEALTH'S HALLOWEEN RECOMMENDATIONS Yesterday, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Piotr Oglaz...a, made recommendations for families in the area to find alternatives to door-to-door trick-or-treating to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. Today, The City of Quinte West supports this recommendation and encourages families in the City to plan safe alternatives to trick-or-treating this year. The deadline for the Support for Families program is Monday, August 31, 2020 at midnight. The Ministry of Education is providing financial support to parents to assist with the costs of educational resources during school and child care closures as a result of Ontario’s declared emergency to stop the spread of COVID-19. Clarification regarding staggered entry from KPR: As we have had some parents ask if the two-week staggered start plans we shared yesterday apply to both elementary and secondary students, we wanted to follow up with everyone to confirm: yes, both elementary and secondary students will have a two-week staggered start. The two-week period will be as follows:... September 8 September 11 Schools remain closed to students. Staff continue preparing school for the new school year. September 14 September 18 Student and class groups will attend school on different days to become familiar with classroom and school processes. All students will be attending school full-time on Friday, September 18. Finalized schedules will be shared with parents through their local school as soon as possible. The Learn at Home online program also will have a two-week staggered start. Families enrolled in online learning will receive further information as soon as possible.
