During stressful and uncertain times, your body deals with a LOT. Mental stress and anguish show up as physical symptoms...inability to fall asleep/stay asleep, back pain/stomach pain, shoulder aches/tension, and the list could go on. Taking some time for self-care, to recharge your immune system and central nervous system, puts you into the best place to navigate the uncertainty that is our reality now.... We are here to help your journey be a little lighter. #MuscleElementsHealth #SherwoodPark #SherwoodParkLocal #ShPk #ShPkLocal #SherwoodParkMoms #ShPkMoms #Acupuncture #AcupunctureWorks #Acupuncturist #Acupuncturists #Massage #MassageTherapist #MassageTherapy #RelaxationMassage #DeepTissueMassage #CranioSacral #Osteopathy #Craniosacraltherapy #FortSask #Edmonton #YEG #YegFamily #YegHealth #YegLife #YegMoms #YegSpa #YegWellness

We are disheartened by the news that the Government of Alberta included massage therapy, manual osteopathy and other wellness services in the mandated business closures that take effect on Sunday, December 13th. This does NOT include acupuncture, as they have recently been recognized and categorized as a Regulated Health Service under the Health Professions Act (HPA) on December 2nd, 2020. While the law states public health orders must be obeyed, our massage therapy assoc...iations within Alberta will continue to advocate to the government that they don't restrict Albertans' access to massage therapy and other wellness services at this time. We believe these are essential health services that must be available to people during this time of increased stress and hardship. We ask for your patience as our associations work to convince the Government of Alberta that the province is better served when Albertans have access to services that support their physical and mental well-being. We also ask for your patience as we navigate the next four weeks of rescheduling or postponing your massage and manual osteopathy appointments. Thank you so much for your continued support...we look forward to seeing you soon for acupuncture, and eventually, for massage and manual osteopathy. See more

Kid 10 - from the Kidney Deck @thenatureofthepoints To be or not to be. The Kidneys are responsible for the creation of power. Skill and ability stem from them. The controllers of Water. The need to be safe, being reassured, trusting, motivation. ... The Art of War; ‘if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear.’ Sun Tzu teaches about the art of assessing risk and knowing the appropriate degree of ‘threat’. Fear is needed to survive, it’s a neutral, powerful energy. One of the most primary and necessary instincts. Distinguish the difference between neurotic fear (not leading you anywhere) and wisdom fear (a spur to change). Check in with yourself. What is compromising your wellbeing? If you are feeling tense or stressed, disconnected from or overwhelmed by your emotions, or unable to clear your mind, breathe the healing tranquility of Yngu’s still Water into the parts of your being that need it. Upper back and neck stiffness and soreness? Got a foam roller? Try this stretch! Rolling is a form of self myo-fascial release; working into and releasing soft tissue, which may relieve muscle tension and increase range of motion. The foam roller is great for broader areas and tissues of the body. Because the pressure is dispersed over a larger surface area, it may be a good option for areas of the body that are more sensitive. Versus using something like a tennis bal...l that works into more specific and smaller areas, creating greater localized pressure. Desiree is completing her practicum at Muscle Elements on Thursday evenings. Be sure to try this stretch with your foam roller in between your health care treatments! See more
