Just being real - John Orion Young and Jacki Morie were a triumph last night! Thanks for attending the talk and for contributing to a superfluid discussion
At 6 pm PT tonight join us for an artist talk + Q&A event w/ JACKI MORIE : When Pixels were Precious... JOHN ORION YOUNG : Ownership in the Metaverse We have Jacki Morie - a VR artist, scientist & futurist and John Orion Young - VR sculptor & blockchain guru, blending their VR timelines and extensive knowledge to offer real insights on financial systems for virtual worlds #letsgetreal
Let's Get Real : Getting to know our guest speakers! Jacki Morie's art has been aimed at evoking strong emotional responses from those who experience it, from her very beginnings in the medium. When virtual reality came along, about mid-way through her career, she knew she had found her true medium. People could now inhabit her virtual environments. She could observe how her work affected them, watch what they did there, and delight in what they brought into the worlds she had created to make them their own. Jacki's talk in the MOR is titled 'When Pixels were Precious'.
Let's Get Real : Getting to know our guest speakers! John Orion Young (JOY) is a character-based contemporary artist exploring new ways of creating, distributing, and experiencing art through innovative technologies of AR, VR, and blockchain. JOY creates virtual muses called JOYs that can only be owned by one person at a time. JOY believes there is beauty in authenticity of ownership and the symbiotic relationship between artist and collector. JOY's talk in the MOR is titled 'Ownership in the Metaverse'.
