Summer has been interesting, to say the least. While we missed out on family visits from across the pond, the girls and I were lucky enough to be able to spend the summer at the trailer and still make amazing memories in the midst of a pandemic. . We’ve had lots of family time and days have been filled with swimming, digging in the dirt, fairy gardens and more! . The nights are getting chilly, and so is the pond, and the lazy days of summer are slowly slipping away!... . Each month brings new adventures and September will be no different. While we may not be able to sing together in person, I was incredibly proud to be part of this amazing virtual project to celebrate the amazing country I now call home. Happy Canada Day!!!

Next week I would have been coming to the end of my daycare sessions and planning the year end party for my Spring session . I have mixed emotions as the province starts to lift restrictions and begins to open up again. I’m happy that things will slowly return to a sense of normalcy but I’m also sad. With all of the restrictions in place, especially surrounding daycares, I have no idea when I will be able to get back to in-person teaching again. I miss you all! . Sometimes, getting my kids to walk anywhere can be challenging. After lunch, I told them if they walked all the way to Flour Child Bakery Inc., I’d buy them a treat. I’ve never seen them get ready so fast! If you’re in the area and haven’t been yet, you won’t be disappointed!

This past week the girls and I spent some time at the trailer. I had my messages and email on, but I switched off social media....for the entire week! With all of the facilities closed, the kids made their own fun. They planted and tended their garden, ran through the hose while I watered the grass we are attempting to grow, and I sat and read while they dug in the dirt and made fairy gardens. How is it June already? . I’m not gonna lie, like many of us, the last 12 weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions. Admittedly, we had a rocky start as we all tried to navigate our way through and create a new ‘normal’ that worked for us as a family. . May in Ontario has consisted of frost, snow, hail and torrential rain with the occasional sunny spell thrown in to tease us . I was a little worried that spring would never arrive . This morning we went for a long walk along one of our local trails, in glorious sunshine, without coats, listening to the beautiful sounds of nature all around us!... .
