Ruth Ginsburg, justice of the Supreme Court of USA from 1993 until her death on Sept. 18, loved Opera. In the attached picture, she appeared in a speaking role of the Duchess of Krakenthorp in Donizetti's "La Fille du Regiment" at the National Opera in 2016. She saw her first opera "La Gioconda" when she was 11, in 1944 and was immediately hooked.
