The MNB team and board of directors are taking today as a day of mourning for the 215 Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc children found in an unmarked grave. We live, work and play music on the unceded territory of the Wlastkwiyik and Mi’kmaq Peoples. New Brunswick has its own horrific stories in how violence has been - and continues to be - perpetrated against Indigenous peoples. We have a long way to go on the road to Reconciliation We are heartbroken, for the parents who never saw t...heir children again, for the families that were ripped apart, for the generations that continue to feel the aftermath of such a tragedy. We stand in solidarity with the Indigenous peoples of this land and amplify their calls for justice. Nous vivons, travaillons et jouons de la musique sur le territoire non cédé des peuples Wlastkwiyik et Mi'kmaq. Nous avons encore beaucoup de chemin à faire sur la voie de la Réconciliation. The live music industry has been shattered by COVID-19 restrictions, and Jägermeister Canada is partnering with the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA) to provide a $100,000 relief fund to help independent music venues survive the downturn. Grants of $1000 each will be dispersed among 100 Canadian live music venues. Demand for aid is expected to be very high; therefore, eligible recipients will be selected through a lottery system. Grant applications are now open. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
