This is Ellen. Ellen was a phys-ed teacher. She's also a runner, biker, personal cheering section, super-volunteer, community leader, and all-round wonderful human. Ellen shared all her experiences from marathons she's run, as well as the challenges of hosting Muskoka Mud Run. Her insights in advance, team of volunteers, and great race-day attitude is a big reason our event was so successful in year one. This past weekend, marathon director Jed Corbeil completed his first marathon. His goal of running a marathon in his 40th year in an exotic location, followed by a holiday with his wife, Shannon was taken from him by Covid. This stolen goal, coupled with the time freed up in our days by having all of our events cancelled, is what drove the birth of Muskoka Marathon. With his brother Sam by his side, and buoyed by some running pals, the marathon was conquered. Jed ran his personal best time. And his personal worst. Thanks for the inspiration, Jed!
