I have to laugh....so I found this book while thrift shopping before COVID went down..and had it in storage. I bought it because it had some cute recipes for kids with easy follow along instructions which is important for kids. The book read..."Cookbook for BOYS" SO obviously a marketing gimmick as all the recipes were not gender specific...I mean its food lol! I busted it out so that the kids could start creating their own dishes in the kitchen and apoarently they were quite dissatisfied with the name of the book.....I find it like this on my counter.....Katie took it upon herself to white out the ridiculous title and correct it to what she found acceptable lol

Okay.....so Chefs Plate was an overall success this week! Delicious recipes that the whole family enjoyed and ones that we WILL make again. Simple ingredients and easy to prepare ( the kids helped each day), it looks like we will be adding a third monthly option to our meal planning ....but who doesn't love variety right?! I'll post the link below incase anyone is intetested in trying with $40 off your first box. With 2, 3 or 4 meal choices per week, it offers flexibility (similar to that of GoodFood) and some different flavor choices to add some flare to your weekly menus. Bon appetite! https://cook.chefsplate.com/plans

Some more yummy dishes coming out of Kelsey Kitchen thanks to GoodFood this round. Love changing things up! The kids loved helping out and trying new foods and/or ways of cooking foods we already eat. I have to say, aside from the taquitos which we've made twice lol, HelloFresh wins in terms of dishes that the kids want to make again....however GoodFood gets points for ingredient spotlights and unique spices or ingredients which is kind of like an adult taste test...like "oh, I've never tried that before"..Overall pleased with both and will continue to order from both. Next up....Chefs Plate...stay tuned.

I've been meaning to post this for over a week now...in fact they are all gone now and my family wants more!! Homemade Bagels YUM! As you will see from the lenghthly instructions, it was quite the process but I'm sure by the second round and so forth it will only get better. It was a multi step process but the results were absolutely delicious and I will make them again. Here's what you need : 2 tsp active dry yeast 4 1/2 tsp granulated sugar... 1 1/4 cups warm water (+ about 1/4 cup more) 3 1/2 cuos bread flour 1 1/2 tsp salt Topping of choice: I used a combo of Minced dried garlic, minced dried onion, poppyseeds, sesame seeds (similar to an everything bagel) Directions: Okay...here we go... 1. In 1/2 cup of water (110F) pour sugar and yeast and let sit 5 min then stir 2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a well and pour in yeast mix 3. Use a dough hook with a stand mixer and begin to mix. Add the rest of the water until it forms a moist, firm dough. (I needed more than the original 1 1/4 cup thats why I added the extra 1/4 cup. 4. On a floured surface knead the dough by hand for about 10 min. I say by hand because it is a thick dough and would probably damage the stand mixer This dough will be stiff compared to a regular bread dough. 5. Lightly brush dough and bowl with olive oil, cover with a damp towel and let rise 1 hr until doubled in size. 6. Punch the dough down and let rise another 10 min. 7. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Shape dough into balls using a gentle motion. If you are too hard on the dough you will end up with wrinkles and imperfections in the bagels....in short I was not good at this part...maybe it comes with experience but either way, I hid that with toppings and they tasted amazing lol. 8. Gently press finger into center to form a ring and then stretch it to about 1/2 the diameter. 9. Place on a cookie sheet and cover with a damp cloth and let rest 10 min. 10. Preheat oven to 425 and bring a large pot of water to a boil. 11. Use a slotted spoon and lower bagels in and boil 1 min per side (I did 4 at a time) 12. After all boiled, place on a greased parchment lined sheet. Brush with egg wash and add toppings. If you prefer plain bagels then the egg wash will simply add nice colour. 13. Bake 20-25 min until golden brown. Cool on wire rack 14. Enjoy....my family toasted and added herb and garlic cream cheese! I froze 2 and they were just as amazing once thawed and toasted! It was a lot of work but soooo worth it!!

Its baby food making week!! This is not a terrible process as I do have the Baby Bullet system but I'm absolutely loving the Infantino Squeeze Station!! Honestly it makes the process fun (according to the girls who now like to help squish the food into the pouches lol) but it also makes it easy for baby to feed themselves, easy to store and transport food, and they are quick to thaw and easy to heat up in hot water. The system itself is fairly inexpensive and the extra pouches can be purchased via Amazon. A couple hours of fun and voila...baby food for a couple weeks. I highly recommend this little gadget if you do or plan on making your own baby food. And it works great too for toddlers as you can buy apple sauce or yogurt in bulk and put it into the pouches for the week!!

Honestly these diapers are awesome!! I mean how cute!! Makes me smile everytime I change her butt. Right now she's ice cream bum So far not one blow out, no soggy diapers, super cute prints, and night time diapers have easily lasted 12-14hrs! If you were on the fence to try HelloBello I highly suggest you give them a try.

Switched to GoodFood this week to change up the food options and order a few extras I like that this company offers extras like coffee, cheese, salami, hummus etc...and I also added some pasta and pulled pork for a couple other dinner options. Both companies allow you to skip weeks so going between both works great!
