"In an era of mass shootings and global pandemics, we have been marked by an inescapable trauma, but it is also pushing us back into a community of care and defense. In a society where we rarely create the space to mourn, the growing mass actions against violence have taken the role of a public reckoning, transmuting that hurt back into a shield wall. We don’t avoid the streets because of white supremacists’ violence we overwhelm the streets because of it. We multiply, reproduce, change our spaces and our relationships and ourselves because of it. We escalate our expectations, for safety and ecstatic living, because we know the antithesis. We come out because we are afraid, and this is the only way to the other side." https://truthout.org//past-year-of-white-nationalism-has-/
Do you have *untreated* scrap wood to spare? MAKK is working on making some garden beds for gardens in our network. If you have some scrap wood to donate, kindly send us a picture via DM. For safety of the veggies we are going to grow, we can only use untreated wood. THANK YOU!! #mutualaid #ygk #recycling #gardening #veggies
"The proposed encampment protocol is business as usual, taking a relocation approach in order to firmly uphold By-Law 2009-76. Individuals found camping on municipal property will be served a 48-hour notice of trespass, during which time City staff will provide ongoing supports and work with individuals to provide alternative service options. Encampment residents who do not accept alternative service options will then be relocated through enforcement."

As the pandemic crisis deepens, the machinery to protect private wealth and property not only grinds on, but becomes even less accountable and transparent. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=451328069293423
