With the frustrating and disappointing news yesterday that our current lock down and ban on outdoor activities is going to continue into June, we have officially renamed our fundraiser to The End of Lockdown Celebration Raffle. While we don’t know when it will actually end, when it does our grand prize winner will be able to throw one hell of a celebration!! The draw will be held Saturday June 26 and along with the grand prize featured in this photo we also have secondary prizes of Chase Claypool and Jamal Murray jerseys, and LCBO and Beer Store gift cards. Tickets are $10 each and can be bought from us or you can contact any of our players or parents!! On behalf of our players we thank everyone for your support as we hope to provide them with the fun and enjoyment they all need right now!!

Congrats to our MVP Alumni Gordon Lam Tommy Bringi Jack Hinsperger and Kiondre Smith on their selections to the 2021 U-Sports East West Bowl rosters. Every year U-Sports selects the top players from across the country to compete in the East West Bowl to showcase the top CFL draft prospects and this year marks the first year our original members have become CFL draft eligible! We are proud and excited for these young men to potentially live our their dream of being drafted to the CFL!!

MVP would like to wish all of the Moms out there a very happy Mother’s Day!!! To our MVP Moms, thank you for your constant support of our program and trusting us with your sons. We would not be where we are without you!!

Congrats to our QB Callum Wither on his scholarship offer to Western Kentucky university!! One of the top players in the 2022 class, it is great to see your hard work and dedication continue to pay off!!

As we have turned the Calendar to May we are going into full swing for our annual Liquor Raffle Fundraiser!! Our kids have had a tough year that is still ongoing with the closure of schools and cancellation of all sports and activities. While we don’t know when it will end, we want to ensure that when it does we can provide them with the best experience possible to make up for everything they have lost. With your support in this fundraiser we can help continue to make a diffe...rence in the lives of our athletes and help them achieve their goals!! Excited for our MVP Alumn Quincy Vaughn as his North Dakota squad takes the field today for the first round of the FCS College Football Playoffs!! Quincy has seen the field on numerous occasions in his freshman season, which is rare for a QB and he has thrown his first college TD pass!! Moments like this are why we love doing what we do, seeing these young men live out their dreams and succeed at the next level!!

Having the android box comes in handy when you want to watch some college football and when you can’t cross the border to go to any games!! Tuning in to the Big 10 Network for the Orange Blue game at Illinois to watch our guys Chase and Sydney Brown!! It may only be the spring game but we always support our guys when we can!! Hello MVP Facebook Community!! In light of the recent announcements from our government we have decided to push the draw of our Liquor Raffle Fundraiser to Sunday June 27. I’m sure we all know that no one will be doing any celebrating on the May Long weekend so we hope to bring someone joy to celebrate the Canada day weekend in July. Tickets are $10 each and are available now from us via email to [email protected] or by contacting any of our players and parents. Tickets will be sent out via picture for now until we can give the tickets to the players when we can be on the field again. In a year of constant uncertainty and struggles, kids have been greatly impacted and largely ignored in the decision making process. With your support we will be able to give them something to be excited about again!!

Attention all High School age Linebackers!! We are looking at running small group training specific for Linebackers that will focus on the fundamentals and skills of both the run and pass game to help develop high school LBs and prepare them for the next level. This LB camp will combine virtual training and film sessions with on field skill development sessions and will begin in early May. We will have a max 10 players and are gauging the interest level before we finalize the details. If interested please send us a message!!

5 years ago today 2 guys that love football and coaching but hated the politics of youth sports came together and created something that even they didn’t know w...ould take off and where it would go. April 9, 2016 MVP Football Academy was officially launched and we ran our kick off skills camp event for the young kids!! It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years already and some of our first 7v7 Athletes are approaching their Senior years in University!! While the vision of MVP may have shifted from what we originally planned (We never planned to be a travel 7v7 program) one thing that never changed was our commitment to the kids and their development!! While it is unfortunate we could not celebrate our 5th anniversary the way we had planned to, our time will come again and we will be ready to compete!! MVP would like to wish all of our followers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season!! We appreciate everyone’s continued support of our program and hope you all enjoy some time with family and make the most of this tough year. Bigger and brighter things ahead in 2021!!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for our program as we saw 5 of our players officially receive their full scholarships to play football at the D1 level. We want to take the time to thank our football community for your continued support of us and what we are trying to do for our players!! We would not be able to take our players to the events that we do to try and help them achieve these goals if we did not have you buying raffle tickets to our fundraisers, and the businesses who sponsor us with your donations. We are truly grateful for you all and we look forward to another successful year in 2021!!

Our 5th and final NCAA signing of the day is DB Brad Kemayou who has signed with Kent State University!! One of the fastest athletes we have had in our program, he is the definition of working hard and being patient through the process and we are happy for him as he achieved his goal of a D1 scholarship!!

Our next signing of the day is WR Nathan Demontagnac who has signed with the University of North Dakota!! Nathan will join fellow MVP Alumn QB Quincy Vaughn down in North Dakota next season! Congrats on your big accomplishment we are proud of all of your hard work and dedication!!

Our next signing of the day is DB Malcolm Bell who has signed with UCONN for his NCAA home and will join fellow MVP Alumn Russell Dixon there for the huskies!! Malcolm was a key part of our secondary and reason why our defense was so successful and we look forward to seeing him play on Saturdays in the future!!

We are excited to announce our latest coach for our MVP Future Stars 7v7 Camp!! Our next coach is MVP Alumn and current Laurier LB Tommy Bringi. Tommy was a first team OUA All-Star in 2019 and will be one of the top LBs in the league again when OUA football resumes. Only 12 spots remain for this camp so make sure you register before they are all gone!!

Great memory pop up from 2 years ago!!! Our biggest value to our players is the network we have created with college coaches in both the NCAA and U-sports, as well as other 7v7 organizations and people involved in the recruiting game like our guys at TNGS in Tennessee!! 2 years later and that network has grown significantly and so have our players' opportunities!!

Attention all Future Stars Camp participants and potential participants!! We have had a few parents ask about requesting kids to be on a team with their friends so we wanted to post to answer that in case anyone else was wondering. If players are registered with their teammates or friends we will do our best to accommodate those requests if we can. When you email to register let us know the other players name and we will do our best to ensure they are on a team together. Spaces are limited so if you are planning to register an athlete in grade 6-8 for our camp email [email protected] with players name, grade, t-shirt size and the $40 payment via etransfer.

Attention all Future Stars in grades 6-8!!! We have received several messages about our Future Stars 7v7 Camp on December 19 so this post is to provide details for that camp. The camp is Saturday December 19, from 10am to 1pm at the University of Guelph Field House. The cost is $40 per player and there is a limit of 30 players due to the field house Covid-19 guidelines so space is extremely limited!! What can you expect at the camp? Players will be coached by CFL and Unive...rsity players and coaches and will be taught position specific skills for multiple positions. Players will also be taught Offensive and Defensive systems and then compete in a 7v7 tournament. Players will be divided into 4 teams for the tournament and each camp coach will be the Head Coach of those teams. It is a great way for the participants to learn lots of new skills from knowledgeable coaches and then have fun competing in 7v7 game play!! We have had some questions surrounding the format of our Future Stars 7v7 Camp so this post will hopefully answer all of them for you. Players will be divided into 4 teams. Each team will go to each of our camp coaches and learn position specific skills from them as well as offensive and defensive systems. The teams will then go with their Head Coach and play in a 7v7 tournament. Teams will play 3 pool play games to determine seeding and then a semi-final and championship game. For Today’s Q&A we take a look at what high school players can do to help their recruiting if their fall seasons are cancelled and they will not have any game film to send college coaches. We are fortunate to have 3 great college coaches provide some insight for high school recruits as to things they can do to get evaluated by college coaches without playing their high school seasons. This week we have Gaizka Crowley, Director of Player Personnel at UNLV, Steve Williams, Special Teams Co-Ordinator at Campbell University, and Nate Taylor, Recruiting Co-Ordinator at Ottawa University giving great advice to all high school recruits!! You can see each of their responses below on what players without fall seasons can do to help their recruiting!!

We are excited to announce the first coach for our MVP Future Stars 7v7 camp!! Current Toronto Argo WR and Former OUA MVP and All-Canadian WR and Returner Kurleigh GittensJr will be our WR coach for the camp and Head Coach of one of the 7v7 teams! For Today’s Q&A we take a look at the idea of player rankings and stars and whether or not they influence coaches decisions in the recruiting process. We were fortunate to have the Recruiting Co-Ordinator from UBC and the Assistant Head Coach from the University of Maine answer the question and provide us some insight on how their programs use them. It is important to note that all programs have their own recruiting process and they are only addressing their own schools. The question we were asked was, How much do stars and player rankings influence coaches decisions in the recruiting process? One thing I am sure all coaches will agree with is that stars and rankings do not replace your game film, grades, character and in person evaluations at camps when they make their decisions. For Today’s Q&A question we look at the idea of camps, combines, showcases and how to know which ones to attend. The reality is there are so many different events that are popping up that only serve to make the organizers money and do not offer any rest benefits to the participants that it can be tough to figure out what to do. Our Question was: There are so many camps, combines and other events how do I know which ones I should attend? When considering these types of events we suggest asking, Will this event make me a better player? Will this event help me achieve my goals in the sport? Check out our full response below!

We are excited to announce we will be offering development opportunities this winter for younger athletes as we will be running a Youth Development Camp for players in grades 6-8. This camp will combine some positional skill development with some competitive 7v7 game play and is designed for players of all experience and skill levels.
