The Yearbook Committee is asking for your help! As you know, this year is quite different from previous years. There are not as many opportunities for us to take photos at school, but we still want to include all of your memories in the yearbook! We are currently looking for photos from your summer vacation and from Halloween. If you have any that you would like to see in the yearbook, please email them to: [email protected].

Potential graduates, are you still trying to decide what your post-secondary future might be after high school? Check out My Blueprint. This program allows you to complete surveys which in turn gives possible career choices based upon the survey results. You may then do compatibility matches pertaining to a chosen career to see if that career suits you. It may give you ideas and knowledge about a program/career you hadn’t thought of before. It is synced with PowerSchool,... so if you’re considering a program at a specific institution it will let you know if you meet their admission requirements. The program will also show what the future prospects are in various provinces for each occupation as well as the average salary. Another function allows you to create a resume and cover letter. Create an account by following the steps below: Visit Myblueprint.ca/anglophonenorth Click ‘Sign up’ Select Miramichi Valley High School Create Account It will ask for your NBEN #/student number to register, so please see Ms. O’Donnell to get this information. Once your account is created, please click into the ‘Who Am I’ tab in the left-hand column. Next complete the 5 surveys listed. After this, you are ready to start looking at possible career opportunities. Ms. O’Donnell will be having two sessions in the lecture theatre to explain the advantages of this program and to give a tutorial of some of the neat features available. Girls hockey tryouts begin this week. Tryouts will be tomorrow (Tuesday) from 4-5pm, Wednesday from 9-10pm, and Friday from 6-7:30pm. The girls are only able to enter the rink 15 minutes prior to getting on the ice and must wear a mask to do so. At this time, parents are unable to enter the rink.

We are excited to announce that MVRealTalk will be selling it’s okay not to be okay merchandise! Starting Monday the 16th to Friday the 27th second half of lunch ! 60% of profits go towards creating scholarships and supporting mental health organizations .

Parent Teacher Interviews Parent Teacher Interviews will be held virtually or by phone on Thursday, November 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 and Friday, November 20th from 9:00 to 12:00. Your child’s teacher will be giving information to their classes and the process they will use to conduct the interviews. Here are some important upcoming events: The grade nine immunization clinic will be held on Thursday, October 29 for the gold team and Tuesday, November 17 for the blue team. Please note the new date for the blue team. Friday, October 30 is a professional learning day for staff, so students do not have school on this date.... School pictures will be held on Monday, November 2 for the gold team and Tuesday, November 3 for the blue team. The MVHS Class of 2021 will be having a bottle drive on Saturday, November 7. If you live near the school and would like to help with our fundraising efforts by donating your bottles, please call the school at 627-4083 and we will arrange a pick up time at your house. If you would like to drop off your bottles yourself, there will be a container at the industrial side of the school on November 7 from 9am until 2pm. We also have an open account at Miramichi City Surplus, which is located about 1km past the Enclosure in Lower Derby. If you have bottles that you would like to donate, please take them to Miramichi City Surplus and ask the proceeds to go toward the MVHS Grad Committee. Bottles can be dropped off at Miramichi City Surplus for the entire year.

We are in the process of updating our student information. We ask that you please update and return the Student Data Collection form as soon as possible, if you haven't already done so. Please make sure that you have also completed and returned the Media Coverage - Parent Permission form, as well. Both of these forms were handed out in mid September.
