We couldn't find a better way to tell you about Fibrecraft than they could themselves, "Our products are designed or selected by artist Saira Jan . Always interested in discovering new materials, colours and techniques, Saira is inspired by the world of fibre art. When she couldnt find the tools that worked the way she wanted them too, she designed them. Handcrafted and quality materials are her personal guarantee.Youll find colourful ensembles of wool packaged specifically to ensure artists have the shades best suited to their projects, designed to be coordinated and cost-effective. We take great pride in this, as we recognise the need to create art on a budget. Looking for the some of the most interesting and beautifully designed textiles in the Ottawa Valley? You should "pop-in" to Fine Batiks during our virtual Fibrefest! Here is what owners Charlee and Bruce have to say, "We share a mutual admiration of the art of Indonesian textiles (woven ikat and batik) - their depth, extraordinary diversity and beauty. Searching for batiks is a very special way to interact and forge relationships with people we would not normally meet and t...o travel to places in Java, Indonesia that are definitely not on the main tourist circuit. We search for small neighbourhoods that produce and sell their batik, smaller markets and individual producers mainly working out of their homes. Our focus is on finding batik cloth, tablecloths and other batik products that we feel will be interesting and attractive to Canadians - and affordable." See more
