We know the worst of this storm is over, but we’re still concerned about road conditions this evening. As the temperature drops, road conditions will become very slippery, so we've decided to stay on the safe side tonight and keep the studio closed. Nous savons que le pire de la tempête est passé, mais nous sommes toujours préoccupés par l'état des routes ce soir. Avec la température qui baisse, les routes risquent de devenir très glissantes, nous avons donc décidé de rester prudents ce soir et de garder le studio fermé.

Thanks for a fantastic first day back dancers!!! Many of our younger students were back yesterday for our first class of 2021, and we are so proud of them for following rules and having a positive attitude about wearing their masks in class! A big round of applause goes out to you parents for helping them be prepared and positive. <3... Pictured here are 2 sisters during a break between classes. One said; "I'm smiling behind my mask!!"

Hello dancers!! <3 In case anyone have missed any of our posts, we wanted to remind you of a few things because of the orange phase (you can find the complete list in an earlier post): - No Kindermovement classes will be taking place while we are in Orange Phase of recovery.... - Please make sure dancer has a comfortable face mask they can wear the whole time they are in the building. - Parents are not allowed to wait in the lobby. Please drop off your child no earlier than 5 minutes prior to class start time and be on the lookout for them at the end of class. Lastly, we are having phone and internet issues that we are trying to have remedied. (2021 had to throw something else our way!! ) If you need to reach us, Erin will be at the studio all day with her phone on her. You can reach her easily by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. If you haven't received your invoice by e-mail yet, don't worry, it's coming! they take a long time to go through and with no internet at the studio today, Erin will only be able to send the remaining ones this evening. Thanks for your understanding!

Classes start on Saturday, and we are busy getting ready for you! We are still in the process of sending invoices with an attached PDF of the Orange Phase instructions you see here. If you haven't received your invoice yet, don't worry! We need to create them one by one, so it takes some time. ;) You will see that we have outlined dates for split payments. Hi everyone! We know you must all be wondering what changes will take place with our zone turning orange at midnight this evening. We are planning to open as scheduled this Saturday January 9th, with strict protocols in place in order to meet the provincial guidelines and keep our dance families safe! ... The only class we will not be running during the orange phase is Kindermovement because we know it is difficult to drop a child of this age off without entering the building. Kindermovement parents will have the weeks in orange phase deducted from their invoice. Please be aware that all regular protocols from our yellow phase are still in effect. We will be posting a more detailed PDF to download within the next couple of days, but here are the main points that we want to make sure everyone understands about our orange phase studio protocols: - Please monitor closely for symptoms. If you have any symptoms, we ask that you stay home. - All students and teachers must wear a mask at all times while in the building. - No parents will be allowed in the lobby area. We will only be taking payments by e-transfer during the orange phase. - We have 15 minutes between each class to ensure ample parking and to limit the amount of students waiting to come into the classroom. PLEASE only arrive for your class 5 minutes ahead of time. - Please ensure that students arrive dressed for class as the use of dressing rooms will not be allowed during the orange phase. If students do not have their own water bottle, they may NOT use cups from the kitchen area. - Spacing of 2 metres or more will be maintained for most of the class. If the movements being done are high intensity, a distance of 3 metres or more will be maintained between dancers. Thank you all for your consistent cooperation and support at this time!! We will get through this, and you will be able to drink a nice hot coffee in our lobby soon! <3

All of our merchandise is on clearance this week, just in time for Christmas! If stopping in, please make sure to wear a mask, sanitize hands at front door, and follow social distancing guidelines. Our receptionist is only available DURING classes, not during the break before or after class as they may be sanitizing the space. ... Thank you! :)

One of the obstacles we face as a business during this time is the uncertainty of what the near future may bring. Our students and teachers work together all year for one major outcome; a year end show. Movement.workshop has always prided itself as a dance school that thinks outside the box and isn’t afraid to do things differently. We are proud to announce that our students are about to take part in an unforgettable experience: the creation of 2 feature length dance films ...which will be premiered at our local movie theatre. Being part of this production will enable the audience to see choreography in a new way, while enabling the dancers to follow proper social distancing measures which may be hard to do behind the scenes in a traditional theatre. Stay tuned for more exciting news about Inspired 2021!

We hope all of our dancers had a great first day back at school today!! We want to remind you that our Winter/Spring session will run from January 9th-May 28th. All of our clients will receive an e-mailed invoice this week with attached payment dates and options. For the first week back, we will be following the same mask protocols as students are following in schools, to do our part to limit the post Christmas spread of germs.... See you all next week! :)

Erin is spending the time this week to make sure everything is in order at the front desk and starting projects with our costume crew. Many hands make light work, so we are doing our last call for volunteers who want to get involved behind the scenes. ;) ps - If you let me know at the studio and have not been added to the group, my brain might just be foggy, so let me know! :) <3 ... So thankful that we are part of this amazing community. Here's to a great start to 2021!!

Happy "1st day of dance"!!!! We've all been waiting so long to get back into the studio, and the day is finally here! :) A couple reminders as our return to the studio is a little different this year:... 1. MASKS Please remember that a mask is needed to enter the lobby, students included for ages 5+! Our staff will help will guide your child through the new way of entering the studio, but watch out for a post tomorrow detailing what studio A and studio B is, and where you should enter and exit the building from. 2. PAYMENTS You only need to pay your $25 registration fee & $20 deposit per class right now. All other payments will only be received next week. We are sending an envelope with your totals home with you, along with a form you must sign and send back with your child next week. If you paid your deposit after your envelope was prepared, we will deduct the amount from your first payment. We will not be taking payments at the front desk for the time being. 3. PARENTS Please DROP OFF your child. We have many students who take multiple classes an evening and we would like to reserve the lobby spaces for them to wait/do homework in. Until we are given different social distancing guidelines from the government, we would like to make sure we always have the room for our students to wait comfortably. :) See you soon dancers!!! :)

Good morning! :) We've had a lot of e-mails asking about e-mail confirmation for registration. We'd like to remind you that we will ONLY be contacting you if there is an issue with the class you have chosen. :) We are presently getting the studio ready to welcome back students and creating new invoices for this year. Everyone who registered will receive an e-mail by this weekend outlining our Covid-19 protocols so that everyone understands how the classes will run.... Please remember that all outstanding balances are now due, as well as your $25 registration fee and $20 deposit per class. All payments can be made via e-transfer to [email protected]

Hi everyone! Many of you may be wondering what the beginning of Fall semester will look like at movement.workshop. This post will give you a clear picture of our COVID-19 protocols that we will have in place.... With these guidelines, we're trying our best to strike a delicate balance between "very safe" and "very fun" to allow for our dancers to put some "normal" back in their "new normal" this Fall. :) That being said, we'll be keeping a close eye on provincial regulations and we'll do our very best to keep you informed of any updates to our policy.

Registration for all classes is now open! We've been sending all of our student's class placements and account balances, but it is taking a long time to get through them all after applying all discounts and making sure each account is accurate with the Covid-19 reimbursements given. We hope everyone has been having a fantastic Summer!! We are getting pretty excited to see our dancers back in the studio after such a long break, and are planning for a fantastic year! At the moment, we are figuring out what our re-opening plan will look like. There are many things to consider in order to follow provincial health regulations so that we keep all of our staff and families safe during this unprecedented time. ... We are currently working on our schedule and class placements. We are trying to keep the schedule similar to last year, but some changes are being made in order to allow for cleaning time between classes, and the fact that some classes must be much smaller than they were before to allow for proper social distancing. We need your help!! <3 We are currently making class lists with potential students in each class like we do every year, but we need to know if your child is planning to continue in the same style of dance as they were last year. While we hope that you will be continuing to support us during this time, we understand that interests change for children. If your child is NOT planning to return this year, please let us know via a facebook message or an e-mail to [email protected] . Class places are limited, so if we know who is, and who is not planning to continue, it will make our class placement a little bit easier. Thank you so much for your support!!! <3 We miss you all so much and cannot wait to get started this September!!
