TESTIMONY // Lisa Giesbrecht Hi Everybody! Lately, I’ve been reminded about God’s promises. He is a God that is full of promise, He doesn’t forget our deepest desires, and He wants to participate in fulfilling those desires. Actually, He wants to be the ruler of those things. I know that I often want to be the ruler of my life and my choices. In thinking about this a lot more, I’m realizing that in order to allow God to work on things in my own life, I need to release everyt...hing to Him; meaning, I need to put His plans above my own. There are plans that I want to make happen but, if I’m not bringing these things to God and praying about them, I won’t really be sure if God wants these things for me. It can be so difficult to let go of that. In this time, God has reminded me that His ultimate plans will blow my mind and they will be exactly what I need and want, I just don’t know them yet. He is a God who is the creator of all, so of course His ideas are going to exceed my wildest imaginations. There have been countless times when I’ve thought that I wanted something to go a certain way, but was then reminded of how God wanted the situation to unfold. When we surrender to Him, the things that HE wants become the things that WE want, and they are always better. In Philippians 4:11, it reminds us to be content, in whatever situation. Later in the verses, it talks about the ‘secret’ of doing so, and it’s actually no secret, it’s in Christ. Jesus provides us with all the strength we need. In anything and everything, Christ is for us. He is for you. He is your Father and friend who loves you. He wants to know you - what can you start doing to allow Him to? Have a great week everyone, blessings to ya :) Philippians 4:11-12 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in what.
