SELF CARE CHALLENGE DAY 1: CREATE A SCHEDULE - Brought to you by the creators and practitioners of @thebeyondfoodprogram - - Really? A Schedule? Isn’t that a bit basic. Duh - For those of you reading this, you might be in different spaces: some of you might be very organized, others might be like, schedule? What’s that? Regardless - this exercise is important because we’re going to start to look at and question HOW you schedule. - For example. When you schedule your day, where do your personal needs go? Last? I bet most of you don’t even schedule the things that are just for you - Am I right? I think I am... - Most people’s to-do lists start with what OTHER people need. - Other people’s agendas run the show! - Of course we all have responsibilities and obligations to other people - I’m not suggesting you ignore those. But I want you to start looking at what YOU need to be able to complete those tasks quicker, more efficiently - because you’ve filled your own bucket. YAY! - For me those things are sleep, coffee, going for a walk, getting ready, creating a clean & tidy workspace, cooking & planning healthy meals, wine or a cocktail at night, and time to decompress in bed before I sleep. - UNINTERRUPTED. - Meaning I’m not doing anything during those times except for what I’m doing for myself. No squeezing in a phone call, no just finishing up that one last task - That’s MY time. Period. - I schedule this first, then I put in everything else. Kids, partner, work, family, etc. - That may seem a bit counter intuitive because THERE ARE DEADLINES!, etc. but I find when I do these things I’m more productive, more efficient - but also way more relaxed and creative. - This might take you a few days/weeks to get used to. - - No problem. Just get started.

SELF CARE CHALLENGE STARTS APRIL 1: http://www.mygetrealtoheal.com/self-care That's right! 30-days of SELF CARE comin' atcha starting on Wednesday! If you haven't opted in to get the info, make sure you do so before Wednesday (link above). ... In the meantime, I'll be giving you some coaching and guidance on how to prep for the challenge - things you can do NOW so you're in a good place when the challenge gets rolling. Today, we're looking at spaces - and whether you have a TON of space, or you've got 12 people crammed into a shoe box - in prep for the challenge do what you can to create a calm and relaxing space to spend AT LEAST 30 minutes per day. A FEW TIPS: INCORPORATE THE SENSES - Smell, touch, taste, sight, sound. Create a space where you can have an experience. Behaviors are triggered in the brain by sensory experiences. The smell of fresh bread, the sound of the refrigerator door opening - so you want to create a space for this 30 day challenge that is LOADED with sensory experiences - triggering relaxation and "you time" in the brain. THINK ABOUT WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR RITUAL - What are your favourite things? Think - your favourite tea, your favourite chocolate, favourite sweater, essential oil, mug, blanket, piece of furniture, view out your window, time of day... Then do what you need to do to have these things available and easily accessible for the next 30 days. SPREAD THE WORD - You want people in your immediate vicinity to know what you're doing. Invite them to join or let them know for 30 minutes each day you're not available! When the challenge kicks off on Wednesday, you'll have everything in place to get things moving. If you haven't signed up to get access to the challenge, make sure you do that ASAP and we'll get things rolling in a few days!

GRTH Response to COVID-19: Time for everyone’s unique contribution to a sh*tty hand - there’s an opportunity and a silver lining here I promise! I spent the last 48 hours freaking out! Now it’s time to connect & contribute! After watching the news, watching society literally shut down around us - it is what it is! For many people this is a scary time - financially, what the future holds, for our health, and many of us are wondering, how can we stay safe, are we going to have... access to everything we need etc. And now I’m really looking to see how I can - not just for myself but for you! All of you who have been watching me and following me - how can we really find opportunities in what can only be considered the crappy hand that we’ve been dealt. And I do believe there is a real opportunity here! For us, this is a time that many people are working from home or spending more time at home than they usually would, and this is one of the first opportunities! Time is one of the biggest things people cite as a challenge when I talk to them about nutrition. YOU HAVE BEEN GIFTED TIME! Don’t use it to panic, use it to create. We’ve always been a solely online company - so not only do we understand the challenges of working from home - logistically, mentally, etc. - we are also really good at working with people and empowering people through digital platforms. So for the next few weeks we will be doing just that and where we are going to be delivering most of that content is in the Better Together Facebook Group: 1. What you can expect to find here is information on immunity, cooking, and how our team of nutritionists is responding and staying healthy and well in light of the various challenges we are facing through pre-recorded videos and posts, and our guidance for working effectively from home. 2. I will be live in the group AT LEAST Once per day to answer any questions and offer live coaching and troubleshooting with people. 3. Our entire team will be accessible through this group to provide guidance and answers to any questions that you post! We’ve also created three products to meet the specific challenges people are facing. For some people, this may not be the time to start something. If your job is in jeopardy or you’re not sure what the future might hold - starting the full on Beyond Food Program with so many unknowns might not be the best idea. More on this in later posts!

If you are struggling with your health and have tried a lot of things before with short lived or mediocre results, you're not alone. . .
