Perms are trendy? Are you serious? I once had a perm and I looked like a poodle. I thought only grandmas get perms. I hear this all the time at the salon. Most of us can relate to a bad poodle perm that’s left us scarred forever. However, perms have come a looonnnggg way since the 80’s. This is a perm I just finished today for my client. She loves the big, loose curl look but her hair is so fine that it doesn’t stay styled all day, leaving her frustrated. I used a very gentle perm solution, a custom perm wrap and large rods. The results are amazing! Her hair is soft, shiny and easy to blow dry. Her style will stay all day, no problem! Definitely not your grandmas perm.

What is a colour correction? And why on earth is it so expensive???! I get asked this a lot! A colour correction is needed if you want to go more than two levels lighter or darker than your existing colour, or you have artificial pigment (coloured) in your hair. Why is it so expensive? The short answer- you’re paying for expertise. ... Your Hairstylist has to approach this colour change in a completely different way. Some colour changes need multiple steps, some need more than one colour formulation to achieve overall even results. And sometimes- especially when colour from a box you did at home is concerned- there’s no guarantee to how the previous pigment will react and there may be more steps required for an amazing result. And then throw in the desire to still have amazing hair that isn’t fried or feels like straw and breaking. It takes a lot of experience, patience and colour to do a correction. It’s like trying to evenly cook a meal when part of the burner doesn’t work, part heats up way too hot, part of the burner is in another room, and part of the meat is frozen. It’s a difficult job. This successful correction was done today for my client who really wanted a change and wow does it look great!
