How to make brushing fun? There are lots of ways to make this task more fun for young children! Tap into technology and use an electric toothbrush or one that plays music. ... Make simple adjustments like switching from brushing with cold water to warm water. Get your little one excited about brushing their teeth by letting them pick out their own toothbrush and helping them pretend play teeth brushing time with their favorite doll or stuffed animal. For young children, it always helps to turn daily tasks into fun games!

Repost @amyparente_rdh My schedule in August is often filled with pediatric visits as parents try to sneak their kids in before the school year starts and this is something I hear often from parents of 6-7 year olds who’s permanent teeth are just starting to come in and may appear yellow. Although there are many reasons a child’s teeth can be yellow, one of the most common is the natural difference of intrinsic color between adult teeth and baby teeth. Permanent ...teeth take on a yellow hue and when in position next to a milky white baby tooth this can be alarming! This yellow hue is due to the fact that permanent teeth have much more dentin (the layer of the tooth under enamel) and the dentin is yellow in color. (Swipe to see a comparison!) Dentin of permanent teeth is darker than in primary and since enamel is translucent this color shows through. When permanent teeth first erupt, the nerve canals are much bigger and the teeth are more transparent. As kids get older, the nerve canals will begin to calcify and the teeth will lighten as a result. Once the full permanent dentition comes in (usually around the age of 12-13) the permanent teeth will blend and appear more uniform. #pediatricdentistry #tooth #dentist #dentalhygiene #teeth #dental #dentistry #backtoschool #healthylifestyle See more

Please be advised: The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario strongly recommends that non-essential and elective dental services be suspended immediately, and to limit services to true emergency situations only. As a result my Kid’s dentist will remain tentatively closed until April 1st , 2020. ... In dentistry, a true emergency situation includes oral-facial trauma, significant infection, prolonged bleeding or pain which cannot be managed with over-the-counter medications. If your child meets any of these criteria, please email [email protected] and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner. If you feel that your child needs immediate attention, please go to your nearest hospital emergency room. We understand that this is a very unique and uncertain time, and we thank you for your cooperation. -Drs and staff at my Kid’s dentist
