My Kitchen Table 29.01.2021

From the Magnificent Adventure 2019 a pizza from Papa Murphy’s build your own pizza cooked in Esmeralda’s oven was an absolute delight.

Warning - this is a long post. I suppose it's time to start some ripples undulating on the pond. As of May 15, 2019, Karen, my sister-in-law, has been occupying a space at My Kitchen Table. She, of course, is welcome but the situation stinks. May 14, we called Finan Home Service to attend Karen's residence, London Terrace Mobile Park, to figure out what was going on; she had been experiencing sewage back-up into her kitchen sink and bathtub and I was unable to clear it using... the tools of an average handy guy, toilet plunger and small snake. The dispatch "call out" brought Tony who determined how to approach a resolution to the situation, provided an estimate of the costs involved, and put the wheels in motion. At this point an insurance claim was considered and All-Risks Insurance Brokers Limited were notified, an adjuster was assigned by Wawanesa Insurance. The lads from Finan arrived, as scheduled, the next day; removed the toilet, ran an industrial eel through the trailer plumbing but were unable to rectify the situation. They next decided to scope the plumbing to determine where the blockage was located. Nothing could be decided from the visuals provided by the camera and they determined they needed to cut away the trailer plumbing near the connection to the sewer to figure out what the heck was going on. They Broke for lunch. The rep from BELFOR Property Restoration arrived while the work with Finan was in progress to assess the damage and determined it would not exceed the deductible. The Finan lads returned. On removing enough of the trailer plumbing so they could access the hub connection to the sewer, it was discovered that the standpipe, leading to the actual sewer appeared to be plugged with sewage. They then attempted to run the eel down the standpipe, were able to progress only a short distance and were stymied. It was determined the clay pipe connection to the municipal sewer had collapsed. Enough of the story for now there is more. Saga to be continued. . . . As of May 28, 2019 we are at Day 14 Up Thumb, Paul Cowley

Up and at 'em this morning with my first cuppa, made with "mercury free' water. Sitting here, looking out on the world through my window when Ron Foster sends this my way; TNX Ron. With the $12 million dollar they can achieve "most significant emission reductions" relating to their refrigeration needs. What about Grassy Narrows? I know Federal/Provincial jurisdictions, blah, blah, blah but either, way they still can't drink to the water. ... Be safe; have fun; don't hurt anyone! Paul Cowley
