Ryan Jespersen is back! I've always enjoyed his balanced interviews and takes concerning events going on around Alberta. Every weekday morning at 8:30 - definitely looking forward to tuning in and hopefully getting some rural representation on issues he tackles in the future!... https://ryanjespersen.com/
This is a critical piece of city planning for Lacombe! Please check it out and participate in the survey!
Yesterday the UCP government introduced legislation that would allow tolls to be placed on new or expanded infrastructure. I'm of mixed feeling on the use of tolls as I've lived and worked in countries (ie. Greece) where tolls allowed relatively rapid construction of critical infrastructure works. That said, I think what must be greatly considered in any use of tolls is that non-toll infrastructure isn't ignored and left behind. ... Not everyone can necessarily afford tolls, so when the Minister says that this will work towards "shortening commutes and decreasing congestion," he means for those that can afford it. This is also another example of the government downloading costs. In the end, whether through taxes of tolls, citizens will be paying for this. It's also another example of the UCP reversing direction - before the election they stated they were dead against tolls. Will tolls really make life more affordable for Albertans? What are your thoughts on the use of tolls? https://edmontonjournal.com//alberta-toll-roads-bill-43-le
