Mynovel

We see more and more publishing houses making cinematic trailers for their bestselling novels. They showcase the story, just like that of a movie, to entice their customers. Mynovel.ca decided to be part of that trend. At first, we wanted to do a contest, so that the most people could participate. In the end, we decided to approach the students of the Cinema program at Cegep de St-Hyacinthe to offer them a chance to gain some real-life experience in their future field. Highly... recommended by Mrs. D’amours, head of the Cinema Department, Alexandre Pelletier and Louis Meilleur Roy were happy to show everyone what they could do. They only had a few weeks to present us with their finished product and earn the $500 grant we were offering. They surprised us with their mature professionalism and succeeded our expectations. They had to respect a strict deadline and follow the rules and constraints we imposed on them. The trailer couldn’t be longer than 60 secondes, two versions had to be made one in French, one in English, and be free of any dialogues. They found the concept, wrote the script, hired their actors, rented the necessary equipment, found a shooting location and shot, composed the sound track, edited the final product...
