For the month of June, we held a 28 day fitness challenge. At home workout routines were designed for participants. Happy to say that there were 17 participants. There’s a lot of fitness advice out there that won’t help you meet your goals and could actually do more harm than good. Here 3 common workout myths that you might have encountered. Myth #1: To lose my love handles, sit-ups is the only way to shape my belly fat. Truth: You cannot lose specific parts of the body fat through one specific exercise. You can only lose body fat by keeping the calorie expenditure lower than the calorie in. With that said, working out to target the w...hole body with the help of nutrition, you can lose your desired weight in a specific time. Myth #2: Weight-lifting turns fat into muscle Truth: This statement is physiologically impossible. Fat and muscle are two different tissues. What weight training really does is build up the muscle tissue through breaking down and re-building process under the fat tissue. In order to reveal the muscle under the fat, the best way is to reduce fat so that the muscle will reveal themselves. Weightlifting simply do not turn fat into muscle! Myth #3: The best time to run for fat loss is in the morning with empty stomach Truth: Not really. Although this might make sense because you might think if the first thing that body encounters is calorie-burning exercise, since there is no food stored in our stomach, the body must use the fat in our body to burn calories. Our metabolism continually adjusts its use of fat and carbohydrates as a fuel on a variety of factors. It is scientifically almost impossible to keep track of how much fat is being used and how much carbohydrates are being used in our body. The best way for a fat loss is setting a time to work out or exercise that allows you to keep at it, until it becomes a habit. There is no specific time that would get you faster result for fat loss.
