In recent years, the rise in social media and growth of the digital space has resulted in frequent occurrences of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is bullying or harassment that uses electronic and/or online methods to bully a person or a group of people. In Canada, children as young as eight years-old experience cyberbullying, and one in ten Canadian youth have experienced some sort of cyber-harassment. Particularly, the prevalence of personal mobile devices and anonymous socia...l networking sites make it easy for perpetrators to harass the victims. Cyberbullying can be an invasive and consuming event to overcome. Victims can feel overwhelmed and self-conscious to share their experiences. If you suspect someone you know might be a victim of cyberbullying, here are some steps to help them: observe changes in their mood and behaviours, and try talking to them about the cause of the changes. Encourage them to report acts of harassment. Since overcoming the challenges of cyberbullying can be a long-term journey, remember to be patient and act as a support system to the victim. Today is the International day of Tolerance! ...Acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world’s culture, our forms of expression and ways of being human. This declaration of principles of tolerance, done by UNESCO, is definitely one of the main things Psymood believes. Being tolerant and respectful is one of the main things that will ensure the survival of diverse communities all over the world. We ask you, not only to be tolerant with others, but to be ac...cepting and respectful. The world is too harsh and violent for us to not be caring of each other and be acceptant. Let’s reflect on that and see what we can do to help and change our community. Interaction with plants can enhance mindfulness and well-being. More specifically, keeping and taking care of indoor plants can help reduce mental fatigue, and improve concentration levels. Practicing gardening has been linked to lower cortisol levels and heart rate, resulting in a decreased anxiety and stress response. Being immersed in nature has also proven to decrease depression in older adults. Even if you don’t live near green spaces or have time to take care of a g...arden daily, keeping indoor potted plants can also provide similar results. You can take advantage of the mental health benefits of plants by interacting with plants and nature, resulting in greater feelings of overall positivity and hopefulness, comfort and relaxation.
