(Immediate Press Release) As the pandemic still leaving it's scars on the face of our Society, the Sikh Community of Canada is striving to celebrate... the Month of April as the Sikh Heritage Month. Many events are either virtual or without attendance but "the spirit is still high to remember the rich heritage, the Sikh Community brought to this part of the World" We, the members of the Sikh Heritage Celebration Committee with the cooperationof various municipalties raising awareness about the the Heritage of their fellow Canadian Sikhs by raising Sikh flags. We did this magnificent act of raising flags in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Mono, Shelburne, Orangeville, Guelph, Windsor, Hamilton and many other cities. The Sikhs dated back to 1897 when they first arrived in Canada, "made enormous success in the economy and politics of Canada". "It is time that we start conversation with our neighbours about who we really are". "Sikh Spirit is a strong Canadian Spirit that Sikh Flag represents" "The Sikh Heritage had contributed shaping the World. Hunger is the biggest challenge of the World, in 15th century, Guru Nanak started Langer (free kitchen), today millions are fed on daily basis by the Langer in Gurdwaras and everywhere without making any distinction between friend or adversary. Message of equality was given in 1704 when during the "battle of Anandpur" by providing values of helping weaker neediness. Bhai Ghanaya Jee offered first aid to all humans without discrimination, prejudice or indifference between Sikh soldiers or Mughal soldiers. Guru Gobind Singh jee stated, when he heard complaints from other Sikh soldiers, Ghanya Jee understood the real message of Gurbani. About hundred year later the Red Cross was founded on same values. The Sikh Heritage Month gives the Sikh Community of Canada an opportunity to share deep down values and three pillars of Sikhi, Naam Japna, Wand Chakna and Kirat Karni. As we raised flag at Mississauga Celebration Square today, I urge everyone to learn more about these values. "REPEAL THREE DRACONIAN LAWS". 500+ men, women and children chanted "No Farmers No Food", "Modi Government Murdabad" etc slogans. Speakers at the rally were mainly youths and also Bhagat Singh Brar, Bhagat Singh Bhandal and Sukhminder Singh Hansra. "The Government of India adamantly refuse to repeal three anti farming laws after 3 months of peaceful protest by farmers in New Delhi. The behavior of Modi Government is no different from a dictator regime defying the demands of their own citizens".
