Deep breaths, dear community I have a strong belief that folks have a right to peacefully protest. Historically we all know that intended peace doesn't always end that way. Due to many unknowns, both Given and Myrtle will be closed during daytime hours on Saturday. However - don't you think our town could use a little fun? A little cheer? Well, several downtown merchants are inviting you to pull out your old dusty masquerade mask from your tickle trunk and head to Talbot ...St. on Saturday night. (No tickle trunk? Dotsy's has several styles of masquerade masks in stock). Join us in celebrating community and safely visiting our lovely small businesses. It is no secret that small businesses have been greatly affected by the pandemic. Many of us have missed so many events and celebrations in our businesses, and we are ready for some cheer! The event runs from 5-10pm and rumour has it some of the businesses have some additional fun for their customers. We should have a better idea of who is participating in the next day or so - but count Given & Myrtle in! We will have some extras planned for those who stop by. Given is also hosting a Random Act of Kindness Day. We will be delivering 3 piece spa packages around town all day! These packages are $20 ($17.70+HST) and for each one you purchase we will donate $5 to the Christmas Shoppe AND deliver it to either a requested local person, or delight a completely random person. Further questions: Can you buy one for yourself? Of course. To me, from me is fine by us - it's been a rough go, you want a pick me up, we got you. Happy to drop it to your door! Can you just donate without an address? Yes, of course. We will drop these off at random addresses in our days travels. A truly random act is ok with us. Can you purchase these for pick up on Sunday (or later) to take to someone yourself who lives out of town? Absolutely, but we will still need you to pre-order so we have them ready for you.
