My Safety Coach 24.02.2021

On the nineteenth day of Christmas, My Safety Coach gave to me: 1 Health & Safety Policy; 2 Hazard Assessment; 3 Safe Work Practices; 4 Safe Job Procedures; 5 Company Rules; 6 Personal Protective Equipment; 7 Preventive Maintenance; 8 Training and Communication; 9 Workplace Inspections; 10 Investigations and Reporting; 11 Emergency Preparedness; 12 Statistics and Records; 13 Legislation; 14 Occupational Health; 15 First Aid; 16 Health and Safety Rep / Joint Health and Safet...y Committee; 17 Workplace Violence and Harassment; 18 Return to Work; and 19 Management Review Management Review is the nineteenth COR (Certificate of Recognition) element, and requires senior management to have a policy for conducting an annual review of the organization's Occupational Health and Safety program. They need to ensure the review includes an evaluation of all the elements listed (like in the previous 18 days), and an action plan based on the review makes changes happen to maintain or enhance a safe workplace. #19DaysOfCOR

My Safety Coach 08.02.2021

On the eighteenth day of Christmas, My Safety Coach gave to me: 1 Health & Safety Policy; 2 Hazard Assessment; 3 Safe Work Practices; 4 Safe Job Procedures; 5 Company Rules; 6 Personal Protective Equipment; 7 Preventive Maintenance; 8 Training and Communication; 9 Workplace Inspections; 10 Investigations and Reporting; 11 Emergency Preparedness; 12 Statistics and Records; 13 Legislation; 14 Occupational Health; 15 First Aid; 16 Health and Safety Rep / Joint Health and Safet...y Committee; 17 Workplace Violence and Harassment; and 18 Return to Work The eighteenth COR (Certificate of Recognition) element is one we don't want to think about too much during the holiday season, a plan to Return to Work. This helps ensure an employee has a re-entry plan to transition back into the workplace, but the COR element consists of much more than this. #19DaysOfCOR

On the seventeenth day of Christmas, My Safety Coach gave to me: 1 Health & Safety Policy; 2 Hazard Assessment; 3 Safe Work Practices; 4 Safe Job Procedures; 5 Company Rules; 6 Personal Protective Equipment; 7 Preventive Maintenance; 8 Training and Communication; 9 Workplace Inspections; 10 Investigations and Reporting; 11 Emergency Preparedness; 12 Statistics and Records; 13 Legislation; 14 Occupational Health; 15 First Aid; 16 Health and Safety Rep / Joint Health and Safe...ty Committee; and 17 Workplace Violence and Harassment The seventeenth COR (Certificate of Recognition) element highlights the importance of considering others in the workplace, to ensure employees do not feel uncomfortable as they go about their daily tasks. This element of COR is not just something to talk about, this includes a program that outlines roles and responsibilities of all workplace parties, and must be kept up to date and current. #19DaysOfCOR

On the sixteenth day of Christmas, My Safety Coach gave to me: 1 Health & Safety Policy; 2 Hazard Assessment; 3 Safe Work Practices; 4 Safe Job Procedures; 5 Company Rules; 6 Personal Protective Equipment; 7 Preventive Maintenance; 8 Training and Communication; 9 Workplace Inspections; 10 Investigations and Reporting; 11 Emergency Preparedness; 12 Statistics and Records; 13 Legislation; 14 Occupational Health; 15 First Aid; and 16 Health and Safety Rep / Joint Health and Sa...fety Committee This sixteenth COR (Certificate of Recognition) element prioritizes teamwork and a variety of people coming together (even virtually!) for safety discussion. At these meetings, the discussion can regard collection, review, corrective actions, implementation of actions and follow-up on Health &Safety Representative and Joint Health and Safety Committee recommendations. Do you know who's on your safety committee? #19DaysOfCOR

On the fifteenth day of Christmas, My Safety Coach gave to me: 1 Health & Safety Policy; 2 Hazard Assessment; 3 Safe Work Practices; 4 Safe Job Procedures; 5 Company Rules; 6 Personal Protective Equipment; 7 Preventive Maintenance; 8 Training and Communication; 9 Workplace Inspections; 10 Investigations and Reporting; 11 Emergency Preparedness; 12 Statistics and Records; 13 Legislation; 14 Occupational Health; and 15 First Aid Do you know where your first aid kit is at h...ome and/or work? If not, you should find out! The fifteenth COR (Certificate of Recognition) element is first aid, which consists of plans to inspecting first aid equipment periodicly, ensuring first aid certification is maintained, and that there is a process for employees to report all workplace injuries. We could talk about this in more detail - send us a message, let's discuss. #19DaysOfCOR
