There has been tragedy in this province today. Over the next few days maybe weeks we will be hearing a lot about this. So will our children. Please be mi...ndful that little hearts and little ears can only take so much. That is true for the hearts of adults as well. Please be mindful of how often and how long the news is on in your house. It’s all right to take a break. It’s all right to turn off the TV and radio, to put down the phone. Take care of each other.

Sackville Heights Community Centre will be closed starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice. Please read message below from HRM. The health and wellness of residents and employees is our main priority.... Effective Tuesday, March 17 all municipally owned recreation facilities, community centres and arenas will be closed, and all programs and bookings will be suspended until further notice. While facilities will be open Monday, we encourage residents to stay home if possible and avoid facilities if they are feeling unwell or have recently travelled outside of Nova Scotia. Further, all March Break camps are cancelled effective immediately, aligning with the decision from the Province of Nova Scotia earlier this afternoon. Please note, for residents who were booked into a program that has been canceled, staff will be in touch in the coming weeks regarding the status of your account. We ask residents to hold off on contacting recreation staff as they continue to help support ongoing service adjustments related to preventing the spread of COVID-19. Your ongoing understanding and support is appreciated during this time. For more information on municipal services during the COVID-19 infection, visit halifax.ca/coronavirus
