Bill MacKay Pioneer and Legendary Whale Watcher. In 1980, Bill together with Jim Borrowman founded a company called Stubbs Island Charters, initially catering f...or divers but then exclusively for Whale Watchers. Bill and Jim campaigned for the stopping of logging operations on the Tsitika Valley which would of effected Robson Bight, an area where the Northern Resident Orcas rubbed on the beaches. In 1982 the British Columbia Government declared Robson Bight an ecological Reserve. Today Bill owns and operates together with his lovely Wife Donna, Mackay Whale Watching. See more
Port Alice is a village of approximately 664 (2016 census) located off on Neroutsos Inlet, northwest of Port McNeill, on Vancouver Island, originally built by Whalen Pulp and Paper Mills of Vancouver. The community is known for its natural environment and saltwater fishing.
