Google highlights mobile-friendly pages Have you ever tapped on a Google Search result on your mobile phone, only to find yourself looking at a page where the text was too small, the links were tiny, and you had to scroll sideways to see all the content? This usually happens when the website has not been optimized to be viewed on a mobile phone. This can be a frustrating experience for our mobile searchers. Starting today, to make it easier for people to find the information ...that they’re looking for, we’re adding a mobile-friendly label to our mobile search results. This change will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks. A page is eligible for the mobile-friendly label if it meets the following criteria as detected by Googlebot: Avoids software that is not common on mobile devices, like Flash Uses text that is readable without zooming Sizes content to the screen so users don't have to scroll horizontally or zoom Places links far enough apart so that the correct one can be easily tapped

Give your website the visibility it deserves! The second half of 2014 has witnessed a surge in Organic SEO... And for good reasons. One is budget, Organic SEO is still more cost effective. Another reason is reducing PPC cost with 'Match and Drop' measurements and finally there is the Organic 'trust factor', viewers are (still) more interested in a listing returning first page based on the integrity of its content as opposed to paying to be there! Semantic search provides better search results by evaluating and understanding the search phrase and finding the most relevant results in a website, both text and meta content. Instead of trying to 'rank' on high traffic keyword phrases, we try to understand what potential clients are looking for and tailor our meta and text content to be a perfect match... CTVnews -- Most Canadians will be armed with their smartphones while shopping this holiday season and likely won't pull the trigger on purchases without launching a few quick searches first, suggests new research released Thursday. In an online survey of nearly 1,000 Canadians conducted last month, a majority of consumers said they planned to rely on their digital devices while shopping even more than they did last year, according to a report prepared by Tapped Mobile, App Promo and BrandSpark International. About 72 per cent of moms aged 25 to 54; 77 per cent of male consumers aged 25 to 54; and 79 per cent of young consumers aged 18 to 29 said they already use a smartphone or tablet as a shopping tool in stores.

In our constantly connected world, consumers rely on smartphones more than ever to help them shop for products and services. Google partnered with Nielsen to better understand consumers’ mobile habits in the shopping process from research to purchase. Using surveys and metered data, we uncovered five key findings: consumers are spending time researching on their smartphones (15+ hours a week), their research starts with a search engine (vs. a mobile site or app), proximity is important (69% expect businesses to be within five miles of their location), immediacy is key (more than half want to purchase within the hour) and mobile influences their purchase decisions (93% go on to buy)- Google Think
