Toronto and Peel move back into lockdown on Monday. It's not happy news and the shifting weather and earlier sunsets may make outdoor exercise challenging. In light of this, I have a gift for you. Book a session with me (DM or sign up on my website) and we can design a daily yoga practice that meets you where you are - physically, energetically, psychologically and spatially. If this is something you've been considering, now is the time to lay the groundwork for winter.

Do you have moments where you catch yourself caught in an endless scroll? I noticed an increase recently so I looked up techniques to free myself and wrote up a list of 5 options. Do you have one that works? Or is there one that you're eager to try?

It might feel like winter is already here, or maybe you need some structure to how you look after yourself. Regardless of which it is, I wrote a list of 5 things that should help a little :) If you already do some of these, let us know which and how they work for you :)

Did you miss my talk on Saturday? If yes, you can catch the replay here. I cover the definition and types of trauma, the difference between studio yoga, trauma sensitive yoga and yoga therapy, and then outline the benefits of yoga therapy for trauma survivors. If you are curious about this or want to dive deeper into this, send me a note and we can schedule something!

I had a rough day on Monday and it prompted me to think about resilience and how to prepare for the season ahead. So I did what I do best - I made a list of things that would help. I shared it with the lovely community at Brass Vixens, and I'm including it here in case it helps you. Let me know which one you might try, or if you have other ideas to build resilience - and please share this with anyone who might benefit from it.

Join on me October 24 from 2-3pm for a 101 session on the positive impact that trauma sensitive therapeutic yoga can have for survivors of abuse and violence. I'll be talking about the physical, physiological and psychological outcomes and sharing a couple of short practices to soothe the nervous system. Sign up here: https://fb.me/e/5ErjCVDjc Thanks to Red Cross Canada and Artists and Artisans Development Network (#AADN) for organizing this series of workshops to raise awareness of these issues in these complex times.
