Docuseek contains over 1,800 films from companies such as Bullfrog, Icarus, Mediastorm and others. The collection includes films that touch on a number of areas of law and legal issues, including human rights law, the International Criminal Court, Aboriginal rights, rule of law, criminal law, animal rights, and more. Today's #tuesdaytip is to read the From the Gelber column in the newest Quid Novi - Droit McGill Law issue and improve your search results on CanLII. #ICYMI, CanLII modified some of its features recently, and this article highlights some of those updates, explaining the best way to use various search features. Bonus Tuesday Tip! Read this new CanLII blog post too, as it includes an important update just announced today: a negative treatment indicator! https://blog.canlii.o...rg//a-new-wave-of-improvements-on-ca/ #gamechanger #legalresearch #lawlibrary #tuesdaytips

Rappel/ reminder to McGill University students: the study hub remains OPEN, even while the city is in a red zone. Hours and capacity have been reduced, but we are still open with socially-distanced seating and plexiglass separators! In fact, as of Monday, 178 NEW seats will be added to the Redpath library space, and students can already start booking this new space (https://www.mcgill.ca//study-hubs-expand-second-floor-redp).

So here's your #tuesdaytip: use search operators to your benefit! Terms like negligence, nuisance, tort, etc. are very common! If you want to ensure you are getting relevant results, try to combine search terms with proximity operators (within the same sentence, within X words, etc.) instead of basic Boo...lean operators (AND, OR, NOT). Note that proximity operators vary by database, so be sure to confirm the exact symbol before entering your query! #legalresearch #lawlibrary
