We need to talk about SHRINKAGE. (No not like that!) Did you know that nails and nail products shrink and expand when exposed to different temperatures? And that it can lead to chipping, lifting and broken nail enhancements?! Winter is the most common time this happens, because when you go from a nice warm indoor space and walk out into the freezing cold without gloves, the huge temperature difference will cause both your natural nail and the plastic coating on your nail... (Gel, Acrylic, Dip Powder, Gel Polish, etc.) to SHRINK, but your natural nail shrinks FASTER than the product, which can put stress on the bond holding the product to your nail. This tiny bit of shrinkage, repeated over and over again can contribute to lifting and chipping, and when you add in the dry Winter air making skin dry and cracked, the increased use of sanitizer & soap, and probably a lack of regular nail oil use...
