Nain Community Freezer

We will be giving out vegetables and eggs from the community freezer starting at 1:00 on Sept 1. - Please bring your own bag/box to carry things home - Physical distancing must be maintained so please wait your turn if others are collecting food... Thank you!

Ullâkut, As of August 24th, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of NL has made it mandatory to wear a non-medical mask that covers the nose and mouth when in indoor public settings. Everyone coming into the Community Freezer is required to wear a mask and continue to maintain physical distancing (at least 2 m apart). ... We will have limited masks available if you do not have one but we ask you to please only take one and keep your mask for future use.

The freezer has the following frozen meats Puijivinik (seal) , mattak, porpoise meat, fish heads and iKaluk (char) for residents of Nain. Come get some country food.

Starting Monday July 20, the Nain Community Freezer will reopen to the public We will be open 8:30am - 12:00pm and 1:00 - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. You will be asked to use hand sanitizer before entering the building and only two people will be allowed in at a time. If you have any questions or concerns, you can call us at 922-2380. Nakummek.

Due to limited food at the freezer, we will not be able to do deliveries until we receive more food. We will continue to post updates to keep everyone informed. We would like to remind everyone that the Community Freezer remains closed and food will only be provided by deliveries when there is enough food available. ... Thanks for your understanding.
