It was a year ago today, over pizza, that the initial sketches of what we were envisioning for a shop facelift began. Although the end result doesn’t at all resemble those initial drawings... it’s safe to say we are very pleased with the final product!!! We’ve had a lot of incredible response to the new look and some questions on what happened to the NAPA Autopro...... Simply explained, we no longer felt the need to use a marketing banner to represent our integrity and uniqueness. Since 1972 we have been proudly serving the community by specializing in the service and repairs of all your motoring needs. As such, it seemed like the right time to stop peaking through that of a corporate marketing vision best known for the sale of parts. We have been many things over the years but oddly enough, a parts store has never been one of them... So why continue to confuse people by looking like one. So, what has changed??? Alberta weather can be relentless which sometimes results in unexpected property damage. But... with over 40 years of insurance claim experience, we are here to work with you through the process of claims and repair regarding your RV To help walk you through the process of weather related insurance claims, here is a breakdown of the steps you'll want to follow. Please be sure to follow this process only after everyone is safe and the danger has passed.... 1) Contact your insurance company to open a claim. Remember that opening the claim does not mean your insurance premiums will automatically go up. Before any final decisions are made, your insurance representative will be able to confirm what impact the claim may have on your premiums. This will allow you time to decide if putting in the claim would be cost-effective or not. So never be afraid to open a claim. 2) Take pictures of the damage sustained. If possible, take the pictures at the location where the incident took place and make sure to include any interior water or structural damage noticed. 3) Take your RV unit to a licensed RV repair facility and inform your insurance company of where you have taken it to. The repair facility can then complete an estimate of repairs as well take care of any needed immediate repairs to prevent further damage (ex/ roof vent replacement or taping, window sealing, etc.) 4) The repair facility will work with your insurance company direct which may, or may not, include an Appraiser coming out to assess the damage in person. 5) Once both yourself and the Insurance company has approved the repairs, the RV facility will then schedule your unit in. Note - If the required repairs and body damage does not affect the operation of the RV, most facilities will schedule the work for in the "off season" which may include free winter storage. This allows you to get the most out of the already limited summer camping season 6) Once the repairs are completed, the insurance company will directly pay the repair facility less any deductible amount owing. Sadly we have had to replace a record number of stolen catalytic converters on everything from trucks to buses and MANY Motohomes this year. Legislation such as this will help reduce that loss and the financial burden placed on those victimized by these crimes. It will also help reduce costs on our earplug budget - ... As such, we fully support this type of legislation!
