TIME TO REGISTER Registration for touch rugby with the Nanaimo Hornets is now available! The cost is $50.00 which will sign you up for a 12-week program running on Thursday nights for the first 50 participants registered. If more than 50 registers there will be another rugby night organized during the week. How to Register: ... 1. Register to play touch rugby at https://www.bcrugby.com/registration/. 2. You will receive an email from Sports Lomo asking you to activate your account, please do this. Important Rules: 1. Once you have secured your place in the 50, you will have to remain with the group on that night for the remainder of the 12-week program. Crossover of days will not be allowed. 2. NO DROP-IN players will be permitted. 3. Check-in will be mandatory while at the club by one of our COVID Saftey officers. 4. 50 people MAX will be allowed, for both on the rugby field and in the Clubhouse. 5. No showers will be permitted while at the club, so please plan accordingly. Please adhere to our COVID Saftey plan for everyone to be safe and for rugby to continue at the Hornets Nest. It is more important than ever to get involved in your local rugby community. BC Grassroots Rugby has started the #jointheclub initiative to promote local Vancouver Island rugby clubs like the Hornets FREE Rugby balls will be given away at their pop up and play events all over Vancouver Island. Each rugby ball has contact information for a local rugby club and their junior directors to make it easier to get involved in Rugby. Hi Everyone, With the COVID virus all but gone on the Island, we are going to have another soft opening of the club this Thursday evening. Doors opening at 6.30pm. It will just be a friendly gathering to have a few beers and chat, and those that have your own darts and would like to get in on a few games please bring them. It will be frowned upon, to share darts. You are welcome to bring your own mask, however, it is not mandatory, and the club does have masks on hand for... those who would like to wear one. If you feel that you cannot social distance then we encourage you to wear a mask. Again you will be expected to sign a waiver as you enter. If you do have flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with those who have, please stay home. Please remember social distancing and please pay attention and follow the house rules. We are only allowed 50 people in the club at one time, so email [email protected] and the first 50 people will make it in, if you don’t hear back then you have made the cut, and I will email those that don’t make it. If we don’t get enough interest then the club will remain closed, and we will try again in a few weeks. If at all possible please car pool within your bubble, so we don’t have too many cars in the parking lot and please have a designated driver, or better still have somebody drop you off and then pick you up later.
